How to increase search rating?

I have been a sitter for Rover for a few months now. I have received a lot of 5 star reviews and many repeat clients. I still am on the second page of the search results even though there are people with no reviews on the first page. Is there a way to help my search ranking? What does rover base the ranking on?

Rover does not make their algorithm public, nor are they very helpful in explaining it. Supposedly it's based on your reviews and response rates, but they do give new sitters a boost when they first join. Some of it may depend on the number of sitters in your area. My advice is to just continue to provide excellent service.

Hi, Laryssa. New sitters (those that you mentioned without reviews) get a boost in the search results when they first join to help them build up their client base. Your 5 star reviews and repeat clients are great! Two other important factors are your response time to new inquiries (and ensuring that you respond to ALL inquiries, even if you are unable to book with them) and ensuring that you send photos during stays. It looks like your response time is great at just a few minutes, but perhaps you didn't respond to someone, as your response rate is at 90% rather than 100%. You also have 100% for sending photos, so that is a plus!
