Do I need to have a social security number??

Hello, My name is Felipe Zuluaga and I am from Bogotá, Colombia.

I recently opened an account with you since I am traveling to NYC to get some job interviews and vacation. I recently graduated form college but of course do not have a social security number. I do have a credit card to pay for the background check but since I am not an American, I could not provide social security number. I have flight tickets from the september the 30th and coming back the 15th of October. This would really make my staying more pleasant and happy :)

I want to be a sitter for the time I stay in NYC, could I be able to do that?
