For drop-in visits how much do you charge for more than one dog?

I do only drop-ins and dog walks, and I charge the same price for both services for the first dog, and only slightly less for each additional dog, per visit or walk. I found this was easier for clients to understand than charging different prices for drop ins and walks. Eliminates lots of back and forth explaining charges. My rates are $12 for first dog, $10 for each additional dog per visit or walk. In my experience, no matter how nice the dogs are, more dogs = more work and cleanup in a household, so I feel my additional dog charge is justified. Have never been questioned on it. I also have first cat, and additional cat rates. However, I will deeply discount the cats if I'm at the client's home anyway for their dogs. Hope this helps!

In my opinion scheduling a walk and scheduling a drop in visit are two completely different things. All of the clients I have had schedule drop in visits only when they are going to be out of town and walks are just while they're at work. Drop in visits would typically include letting them outside, playtime to burn off as much energy as possible, feeding them and changing water, bringing in the mail/paper and making sure nothing in the house has been torn apart (ie. all things you would do if the owner is gone for a number of days). But each drop in is typically different, because normally I would be going over 2-3 times a day. If I do a walk during a drop in, it's usually only 15 minutes. It really all depends on what the client wants though.

I do more drop-ins than walks...I charge $15 for the first dog, and $5 for each additional dog. I try to give each dog individual attention, which sometimes includes a (very) short walk. And yes, there's a lot of gray area between walks and drop ins...mostly due to weather and the physical location of the stay. For instance, during the summer when it's screaming hot out, I'll shorten a walk and finish it with playtime indoors so it's a half walk/half drop in visit. The winters here in WI sometimes walks get the same treatment.

I charge the same for walks and drop-ins. I charge $15 for the first dog and $8 for the second dog. These are my final prices after raising them twice already in 8 months time.

If an owner is gone all weekend and wants you to do 4 drop in visits a day. Do you charge them per day or per visit?

I charge the same rate regardless of how many pups I let out, but that's my decision. My drop in rate is higher than my walking rate, and I don't charge more for walking 2 pups, more than 2 won't work for me. You need to decide what is right for you.

This is completely up to you, as it is your business. I can don't do drop in visits, however, I think two dogs are a lot more work. I have had multiple dogs and they keep you juggling sometimes. I don't do it anymore for sitting in my home. I think you can try out a price and then alter it if you see fit. Good luck!
