Can those who do mostly dog walking share what documents (if any) they have their clients sign?
Hi I am trying to start a (primarily) dog walking business. I will do drop in visits, as well. But I will not be doing dog sitting. I'm not sure what type of paperwork is appropriate to have signed and I don't want to overwhelm the clients with a lot of unnecessary paperwork. At the same time I want to cover all my bases as a professional dog walker. Thank you.
Why do you think paperwork is necessary or required? I'm a full time walker and see no need for it?
Hi Walt, Thank you for your response. I thought it was important to have the client fill out a Client Profile, a Pet Profile, a Veterinary Release form, etc....and a Dog Walking contract. (This is what I've read) Am I overthinking it? Do you have your clients sign anything at all?
The client would fill out all the info you stated above when they complete their Rover profile. There isn't a contract so to speak, but you may (if you choose) want something for keys if the client wants a receipt/promise of return. I don't have that with any of my clients, however.
Thank you, Mary. Since I'm new...I'm trying to do everything the right way. I'm wondering if I get any clients completely outside of Rover, would you suggest I have them fill out the paperwork? If so, which ones? Or do you still feel it is unnecessary?
If you are running your own business outside of Rover, then YES, have forms! This is just me, and I don't have clients outside of Rover, but if I ran my own business, I'd have an attorney draw up some forms for me.
