What is your puppy rate?

I have watched several puppies since starting with Rover but I tell you, it is difficult! Very few are really house trained... I have one right now that has diarrhea and he's going all over my floors (the owner switched his food 2 days ago and didn't combine it for a good week or two like she should have)! I have yet to see where he's actually urinating other than the one I cleaned up. I had my rates $10 more than an adult dog but just now really raised them. I'm glad that I have mostly tile floors throughout my house but still... it's getting irritating, and just not worth the $30 a night (after the Rover fees). What do you charge or do you not watch puppies at all?
Thanks!

I charge $62/night for puppies, as opposed to my regular rate of $55/night.

I decided to stop offering to watch new puppies on Rover. Puppies were typically too high energy, too sporadically potty trained, and overall just too much for my senior dog to handle. I have a few younger clients who I have watched before that I would agree watch again, but I'm not open to boarding new puppy clients at this time.

No puppies for me either. I don't want the hassle.

If you don't think that 30 a night is worth it, then put your prices up to what would be worth it for you. you may not get as much puppies at your house but either way its a win.

The dad just picked up the dogs... and he said the puppy wasn't house trained when it said it on their form!! He said he's barely pad trained... so why didn't they bring pads? I had another owner bring pads so it's okay. I don't have them handy but will certainly buy some now. and as much as I do not expect a tip, I certainly deserved one with these two dogs, and nothing. what a way to start my morning. oh... and he pooped twice in my bedroom where there's carpet, not fun with diarrhea. arghhhh!!!!

I totally agree on charging more for puppies. I only charge $3 more for puppies per night (I house sit and my house sitting rate for an adult dog per night is $35 and my puppy rate is $38 per night). I don't board dogs, but I think you are justified in charging more since it is your own home the puppies are peeing on! haha

I charge $35/night for puppies between 6 months - 1 year. But I don't watch puppies under six months UNLESS they're a client that I've worked with previously (walks or daycare) and I know they're decently behaved.

I don't keep puppies, for the reasons you listed and the fact that I have carpet throughout my house.

I did do drop in visits for a client from another company who was crate training his puppy. That worked out well because of the crate. Boy, did that little girl have a lot of energy though! :-)
