what do you do if a clients dog passes away while in the sitters care?

That's awful. I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how awful that would be.

You should contact the owners and Rover to let them know what has happened, in whichever order you feel the most comfortable with. Though I feel like calling the owners first is the right thing to do, Rover staff may be able to help you in communicating all the important info with the owners and assist you with whatever support you might need through this stressful experience.

Again, I'm very sorry you experienced this.

I am so sorry you are going through this. You might have done this already but I would call Rover first, they have a special way of making you feel better in this awful situation. They will also help you with how to tell the customer this has happened. I feel your pain right now. Keep us posted, let us know what happened.
