About: I have many years of experience with dogs, bunny's, guinea pig, ferrets, cat and hamster. Me and my husband have already taken care of several animals and houses in Brazil, USA and Canada. I have a course of pet therapy and introduction to the gromming of wild animals. Caring for your pet is always fun and a pleasure. About: After a decade of working in Veterinary Medicine & Wildlife Rehabilitation, I’ve learned most pets don’t crave daycare - they crave quiet company, fresh air & someone who truly notices them. My visits focus on calm connection & little adventures. Whether it’s a midday walk, a check-in while you’re away or gentle company for an anxious rescue, I aim to meet them where they’re at. With a background as a Registered Veterinary Technician with hands-on experience ranging from dachshunds to squirrels, I bring patience, humour & fear-free handling to every visit! Serving dogs, cats & the occasional critter who needs a little extra care. Pet care is my day! I honestly can’t remember the last time I spent a day without an animal nearby. I eat, sleep & breathe animals - it’s just who I am. I’m currently not offering care in my own home as I prefer to keep pets comfortable in their own space, my approach is always to meet animals where they feel safe! Following their usual routines, cues & comfort levels is important to me.

About: I have always loved animals and I hold such a soft spot in my heart for them. Growing up I had a dog, cat and bird as pets who I loved deeply until they passed away; I was their main caretaker. Now, in my adulthood I have moved around a lot and never had the stability to offer to get a pet of my own, but I as I settle more into Nova Scotia I would love to get one soon. For now, I am able to offer my time and love in any way I can and would be so excited to offer my companionship and caretaking skills through Rover. I work from home and am able to offer the time and love needed to really care for any animal. I work from home, 9-5 and have the flexibility to offer love and companionship throughout the day. I am already taking long walks mid day and after work and would be more than happy to take a pet along with me. I am new to the area and have lots of free time to visit pets at home, walk them, care for them, etc. My home has a backyard and walkway down to a quiet beach area. Backyard isn’t fenced. I also frequently visit great parks such as Ellenwood park and can take animals there with me for walks.

Nic is great! She was very patient with a puppy that was unsure and a bit nervous. Excellent experience!

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in Yarmouth. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Tip: Keep in mind that many cities in Canada require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yarmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
