About: I have always loved animals and I hold such a soft spot in my heart for them. Growing up I had a dog, cat and bird as pets who I loved deeply until they passed away; I was their main caretaker. Now, in my adulthood I have moved around a lot and never had the stability to offer to get a pet of my own, but I as I settle more into Nova Scotia I would love to get one soon. For now, I am able to offer my time and love in any way I can and would be so excited to offer my companionship and caretaking skills through Rover. I work from home and am able to offer the time and love needed to really care for any animal. I work from home, 9-5 and have the flexibility to offer love and companionship throughout the day. I am already taking long walks mid day and after work and would be more than happy to take a pet along with me. I am new to the area and have lots of free time to visit pets at home, walk them, care for them, etc. My home has a backyard and walkway down to a quiet beach area. Backyard isn’t fenced. I also frequently visit great parks such as Ellenwood park and can take animals there with me for walks.

About: Animals, especially dogs, have always been a part of my life. I just lost my senior 14-year-old Chiweenie (dachshund/chihuahua mix), Norah, this June. She travelled the world with me while I was nomadic, and needed a lot of special care and medications during her senior years. I (with Norah's help) was also a foster home for the Ontario Dachshund Society when I was living in Canada. We helped move (including having dogs rehomed with us until they found their forever home) Dachshunds from high-risk dog shelters in the USA to their new owners in Canada. I was required to take a pet's first aid course to qualify as a foster home as well. I also grew up taking care of my mother's Westie, who was a retired breeder dog and needed a lot of extra love and care, along with my brother's sweet pitbull. I own a skincare company, which allows me to work remotely, which also means I work from home (WFH). I'm a natural homebody, which means I'll be home with your fur baby most of the time. Until recently, I was trying to find a sitter for Norah in my home, so I could travel for work. Still, I found it very hard to feel like I could trust a stranger with her, as her needs were particular and there were very few candidates that I felt would take care of her in the way that I do. I want you to rest assured that your pet and your home will be in safe hands, with someone who has a lot of extra love to give and who genuinely cares. I also have over 25 5-star reviews as a guest on Airbnb. I work from home, and I run my own business online, so I have a very flexible schedule. I spend most of my time at home, so I will ensure that your pet will be constantly cared for. I have a lot of experience caring for animals, especially dogs, so I know the importance of getting to know your needs, and your pet's needs, ahead of time. I would like to know what their daily schedule is like when you are home with them, which includes any medications they take, along with understanding their diet. I would also need to know how your pet is when you are around other animals. My senior dog really liked to be left alone in her later years, so I knew to pick her up in situations where she was feeling overstimulated, for example. The more communication the better in my opinion, which helps me ensure that your pet is safe and comfortable while you are away.

About: I love spending time outside, which is made so much better when accompanied by a four-legged friend. I am playful, caring, compassionate, and have lots of patience. I usually fall in love with dogs within minutes of meeting them. I think respecting the owner’s disciplinary plan as well as dietary plan is important. I work on weekdays from 7:45-8:45 to 2-3:30. I don’t mind taking dogs in my car and have experience with letting dogs off-leash. Unfortunately, due to severe allergies, I am unable to take pets into my own home unless they are hypoallergenic. However, I do have lots of experience house sitting and can certainly provide additional references upon request. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like me to meet your pet!

About: After a decade of working in Veterinary Medicine & Wildlife Rehabilitation, I’ve learned most pets don’t crave daycare - they crave quiet company, fresh air & someone who truly notices them. My visits focus on calm connection & little adventures. Whether it’s a midday walk, a check-in while you’re away or gentle company for an anxious rescue, I aim to meet them where they’re at. With a background as a Registered Veterinary Technician with hands-on experience ranging from dachshunds to squirrels, I bring patience, humour & fear-free handling to every visit! Serving dogs, cats & the occasional critter who needs a little extra care. Pet care is my day! I honestly can’t remember the last time I spent a day without an animal nearby. I eat, sleep & breathe animals - it’s just who I am. I’m currently not offering care in my own home as I prefer to keep pets comfortable in their own space, my approach is always to meet animals where they feel safe! Following their usual routines, cues & comfort levels is important to me.
