About: I have over 20 years of personal experience caring for both dogs and cats. I’ve had dogs and cats of my own throughout my life, and I currently share my home with two lovely cats. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, and I always take the time to help them feel safe and relaxed. I’m patient, attentive, and reliable, and I’m happy to follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medication, and any other individual needs. I will care for your pets with the same kindness and attention I give my own, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. I work full-time during the week, but I’m available for pet care in the evenings, on weekends, and during scheduled time off. I can provide walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, and drop-in visits, and I always make sure each pet receives consistent attention and care. I carefully follow each pet parent’s instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, routines, and household rules. I make sure doors and gates are secure and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I respect each pet’s personality and comfort level and give them the time and space they need to feel relaxed. My priority is to provide safe, dependable, and loving care in their familiar home environment.
About: I’ve had animals since I was born always wanted more and love the energy they bring to a household. My best friends forever truly until I die. This summer I start a 35 hours a week summer position from Monday-Thursday 8-4 then Friday 8-11 (roughly). I am able to care for your pets in the am, in the evening, and during the weekend. Just cannot do pee breaks during the weekday. I will also adjust my rates due to this 8 hour inconvenience during the weekday. If that works for you I hope you can book with me soon!! I am aware of their surroundings and have experience working at a shelter where safety and cleanliness was a top priority I always do checks on my animals to ensure everything is okay.
About: Hello! My name is Victoria :) I’ve been a Rover sitter in Ontario for the past two years and have now re-located back home to Newfoundland. I have absolutely loved my time as a sitter in Ontario and am looking to continue within the metro region in NL :) I work full-time in the Early Childhood Education field and am a huge animal lover! I have experience looking after dogs, cats and bunnies, as well as owning dogs and cats throughout my life. Please reach out if you have any questions :) I look forward to meeting some new furry faces! I work full-time as an early childhood educator :). I currently work split shift so between shifts I can be back to hang out with your pet! I have my own vehicle as well so transportation is not an issue :) Your fur baby will be given so much love and affection as if they’re my own :) I am always on top of making sure their food and water is full, their potty area is clean, and they get lots of play time. I’m always sure to give plenty of updates with cute pictures and videos of your pet
“Cats were happy and healthy when we got home, bowls of water and food were full :) Litter looked to be done and one of the cats had medication, which she successfully gave! I would rebook with her again :)”

About: Growing up with pets my whole life I have lots of experience with small and large breeds. I have taken care of anxious pups, ones with loads of energy, and small puppies. I have a senior dog myself and I have plenty of experience with unique needs that may come with age. I’m a Social Work student at Memorial. I’m currently doing part-time studies over the summer and working part-time as well. I love to spend time outside, taking walks through nature is a favourite hobby of mine. Providing the best care for your pets in the comfort of their space is something I take pride in. I’ll be sure to have clear communication about your pet’s needs and how to bond best in their environment.
About: I love animals and have had pets since I was young. I currently have two cats, lots of fish, and a very playful Golden Retriever but I have looked after all different kinds of pets! I've cared for all kinds of dogs (small to giant), cats, a tortoise, a bunny, a chinchilla, and fish. I would be so happy to take care of your furbabies, whether it's drop in visits, walks, or doggy day care in my home. I am available for doggy daycare on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays! For doggy daycare, up to 10 hours is included in the price. For daycare over 10 hours, an additional $10 charge will be applied. I have a very large fenced yard where your dog can run and play to their heart's content. I have also completed Dog/Cat First Aid and CPR that I can use in the unlikely event of an injury.
About: Ollie’s mom here! I was away recently as my dog recovered from knee surgery, I am back and looking forward to making new friends! I am a registered nurse who would love to help take care of your fur baby when you’re in need. I am flexible with my calendar and rates can be discussed if needed! As a shift worker I’ve had to ask for help caring for my own dog over the years and I understand how difficult it is to find someone you feel comfortable asking for help, and to trust with your baby, which is why I wanted to help other pet parents in need! I have lots of love and care to give and as a dog lover I would love the extra company and companionship. Rest assured they will be treated with the same love and care as my own, lots of love to share ♥️🐾 Reach out! Hello! I am a full time registered nurse and dog mom to my energetic boy, Ollie. As a nurse, I have availability during the week as well as weekends. We love going on walks, swimming, and being outdoors As a dog mom who’s pup had 2 knee surgeries I am familiar with any type of care you need, meds, rest, cuddles, and lots of love. Although I do not have a fenced yard your pup will safely be able to go out for supervised pee breaks on a long leash in my yard. I live near many trails, ponds, and bowring park. My dog Ollie is well socialized and loves all of his buddies at daycare, he would love to have the company of another dog. I am able to visit your place, take your pup to mine, or take them out for a stroll.
About: Friends and family have trusted me to look after their dog(s). I have three dogs of my own so I know how to keep them entertained and take care of them. I am a university student and work part time so I have spare time that I would love to fill with being around pets and helping out where I can. I ensure the dogs have enough to play with and keep them entertained as well as keeping them out of things that they shouldn’t be in and I can assist in some easier parts of training where needed.
About: I have a huge passion for animals, especially dogs. I love keeping animals happy, and I'll love your dog like it's my own. I've had dogs my whole life, and I love the outdoors and walking. I'll make sure your dog gets lots of exercise, and I'll keep the walks fresh and new, bringing your dog to many different trails. I am completely comfortable with all sorts of dogs. I used to own a mix named Tickey, a Golden Retriver named Daisy, a King Charles Spaniel named Katie, and I now own a Portuguese Water Dog named Odin. I’ve done some dog walking for people while they were travelling for a few weeks and absolutely loved it. I cannot wait to meet your dog! I love making new friends, I feel like I have a special connection with animals because I am open and 100% comfortable. I work as a barista and am off almost every Monday, Thursday and Sunday. So I can walk anytime on those days. On days that I work I walk Odin every afternoon when I get off at 3, so I can walk your dog/s with Odin, or separately afterwards I have a fenced in yard that is all grass and it is always mowed and fully cleaned. I also have woods right behind my house that is great for walking

“Heather pet sitted out two senior cats for 5 days when we had to go out of province for a family wedding. She did a great job! One of our cats needs medication twice a day and she administered it no problem. They loved her and did not hide when she came to visit. I felt very relieved having her watch the cats and felt like it was one thing I did not have to worry about while we were away. I would recommend Heather to anyone and would definitely book her again.”

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Torbay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace.
