“I had never boarded our 8 year old chocolate lab before so I was nervous to leave him. Kim made us feel comfortable with plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. They dogs got along great, enjoyed the whole house and she even let him sleep on the bed. I can’t say enough great things about this experience. She noticed his ears were bothering him and took the time to clean them (which he doesn’t normally let anyone do but me). Thank you Kim! ❤️”

About: Hi, I’m Shannon. I provide a calm, clean, and structured home environment where your dog will feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for in a countryside environment. As a healthcare professional and experienced dog sport handler, I naturally pay close attention to detail, routines, and subtle changes in behaviour, ensuring your pet’s well-being is always a top priority. I keep my bookings small so each dog receives personalized care, consistent routines, and meaningful one-on-one attention. My home is best suited for dogs who thrive in a quieter environment, including seniors or those who may feel overwhelmed in busy kennel settings. I also have experience accommodating puppies and high-energy dogs in various stages of training. I work from home, which allows me to provide a consistent, supervised routine where your dog receives plenty of structure, attention, and meaningful interaction throughout the day. My child is very dog savvy and trains dogs as junior handler on our flyball club. I attend dog training classes with my own dogs. When appropriate and with your approval, your dog is welcome to join for a safe and enriching outing, including a secured car ride and a supervised “sniff safari” or work recalls at the training facility. During the summer months, I also participate in dog sport tournaments, which may involve travel and on-site camping 4–6 hours away. For clients who are comfortable, dogs are welcome to join these structured adventure experiences. Participation is always optional and discussed in advance to ensure it’s the right fit for your dog. I offer a dedicated dog space equipped with crates, comfortable bedding, fresh water, and access to a secure dog run, along with a large, fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time. We also have the executive suite, which is a play pen for boarding dogs and especially for puppies and seniors. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs, including administering medications, supplements, dietary needs kibble and raw feeding, caring for deaf or blind animals. With over 12 years in competitive dog sports, I am also skilled in handling puppies, high-energy dogs, reactivity (such as barking or anxiety), and resource guarding. Please note: while I am experienced with behavioural challenges, I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or biting. This is to ensure the safety of all dogs in my care, as well as my young child at home. For safety, all boarding dogs must be crate trained and comfortable with overnight crating. This helps maintain a calm and structured environment. During the day, dogs are welcome on furniture and can enjoy a relaxed, home-like setting. You can expect regular updates, photos and videos, a clean and safe space, and the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for like family.

About: My name is Samantha and I've been a lifelong lover of all creatures great and small! I am currently a mom to a 8 year old miniature schnauzer, but I've had a kitty or dog companion by my side my entire life. I'm new to Mississippi Mills and I would love to meet your pet. Friends in Ottawa have relied on me to check in on their fur babies, take them for walks, feed them dinner, or simply spend time with them! I'm very reliable, I work from home 4 out of 5 week days, have a car, am flexible and adaptive. I work from home 4 out of 5 days of the week and am typically available on evenings and weekends. I will do whatever it takes to make sure your furry baby will be well taken care of! I can be trusted to do drop in visits, spend time petting, playing with, feeding or walking your baby.
“We are thrilled to have a go-to Rover near beautiful Merrickville, where we sometimes spend the weekend. Now, we're able to send our dog to have a blast with Kayla and her dog while we roam the shops, cafes, and restaurants. Kayla was prompt, professional, and friendly in her communication and service, and she took great care of our dog. He was smiling extra big in all of the photos she sent us throughout the day. We will be reaching out to here again in future, and recommend her to others.”

I have loved animals and deal with them better than humans. I have taken care of many dogs/friends/companions in my life and it would bring me joy to care for yours.

About: I've always had a special connection with cats—growing up, I had several of my own, each with their own unique personality. Over the years, I’ve also housesat for friends and family, caring for their pets as if they were my own. I've looked after up to three cats at once, including a senior rescue who needed daily medication. About: Hi there! I’m Amanda — a lifelong animal lover and physiotherapist who also completed the Canine Rehabilitation program. I grew up at the stable, surrounded by animals my entire life, so caring for dogs and cats has always come naturally to me. I got my first dog for my ninth birthday and have since cared for pets from puppies to senior dogs well into their golden years. I currently share my home with two wonderful dogs, including one rescue pup I personally rehabilitated through patience, structure, and love. As a physiotherapist and certified canine rehab specialist, I have a strong understanding of mobility, comfort, and safe handling—especially for dogs recovering from injury, dealing with arthritis, or needing a bit of extra care. Whether it’s a playful pup, a gentle senior, or a pet who needs a little confidence and TLC, I treat every animal as if they were my own. You can count on me to provide warm, knowledgeable, and reliable care so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means I’m available for pet care during the day, evenings, and weekends. Since I’m home most of the time, your pets will get plenty of attention, love, and companionship throughout the day — just like they would with family. When caring for others’ pets, I always take the time to listen to their owners and follow each animal’s usual routine. I believe consistency and respect are key to helping pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for — just like they would at home.
“Thomas did an great job with our cat Rosie. I really felt like she was loved while there. The house itself was also spacious so she had lots of space to roam. Rosie has medical issues and so needs meds at very specific times of day and Thomas made sure to let us know that she got them. I would definitely have him cat-sit for is again 😊”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life and grew up with my own dogs (hound crosses) and pets. I graduated University of Guelph with the Horse Industry Technician Certificate and have made my professional career all about animals. Several years of experience working in prestigious, world class facilities for horses and dogs alike. Personally I am a mother of 2 young kids, 3 dogs (2 golden retrievres, an Australian shepherd) and a pony. I very recently lost my 8 year old husky cross rescue to an aggressive battle with cancer. I work from home with a flexible schedule as a receptionist and training support for a world class dog kennel. I can provide reliable, confident care for all of your pets at home and even farm duties if required. Confident handling all sizes of species and breeds. Can provide knowledgeable first aid care when necessary and am certified through St.John Ambulance in Pet CPR. I’m happy to do drop in visits throughout the day if you are away or provide routine exercise times for your pets, whether daily or just a couple days a week. My services are backed by years of experience training puppies, older dogs, horses and many small and large animals of varying backgrounds from rescues to breeders to professional athletes and I’m happy to care for all ages as well. I am looking forward to working with you and your pets! I work from home with flexible hours. 4 days a week I am kid free but the days I'm not my daughter would be happy to tag along for pet visits and walks if you pet doesn't mind small children being around (she's very well mannered around animals). I am available 9:30am-3:30pm and can open my availability on evenings as well as the weekend if there is a need. I'd love to provide some mental, physical stimulation for your pet (especially dogs) and don't mind feeding a meal or giving meds if required. I would enjoy becoming a part of your pet's regular day time routine and I'm sure we'd have so much fun together! I'm happy to cover multiple drop in visits a day for meal times and potty breaks if you need someone to pet sit but not house sit as well. When visiting my clients' pets in their homes I am confident supervising outdoor play in a fenced yard or off leash once a bond is established. I'm confident handling all temperaments and sizes of dogs on leash and have a great experience using a variety of collars or harnesses. I'm happy to work with your dog on leash walking skills if needed as well. Your dog's safety, comfort and confidence are important to me when exercising and handling them in any setting. I can confidently supervise play of multiple dogs as well as go on on and off leash pack walks to better serve my clients. I have over 2 acres of "no climb" fenced in as a dog run on my property that I would be happy to share as an exercise space for you pets as an outing. Consistency is key to success when it comes to animals and I am happy to provide that sense of calm and stability for them in whatever way that looks like based on how you've handled and raised them. No matter what situation we find ourselves in, as stated above, safety is a top priority and I can keep a calm, cool head and think on my feet if ever an emergency should arise. Your pet will be in safe, confident, calm hands at all times.
