“Adrienne watched our 130 pound lab while we off celebrating our wedding weekend. We had never used Rover before and stumbled upon it trying to look for a kennel in Tbay. Unsure how everything would go after I sent my inquiry. Adrienne set up a meet and greet with Gibson and instantly I knew this was going to be a great decision. Not many people want to watch a 130 pound dog who sheds like crazy. Adrienne was beyond excited. She sent us daily photoshoots and updates throughout the whole weekend and even made a custom “I do too” necklace for one of the photoshoots to send us on the day we got married! My heart was full everytime I received an update knowing my pup was in the best hands. I would recommend Adrienne to anyone and everyone who is looking for a dog sitter.”

“elizaveta was so incredible with our senior girl, asked thorough questions to ensure she was properly taken care of and gave us tons of updates throughout the stay! i 100% recommend her to anyone, especially people with seniors who need extra care. thank you so much!”

“Teresa truly cared for my dog like one of her own! She updated me throughly with lots of pictures and made my dog feel so comfortable he was sad to leave her. She even sent treats home with him :) Highly recommend!!!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always been a natural part of who I am. Growing up, my family always had two dogs at a time, including a Newfoundland, a Goldendoodle, and a Bouvier-Poodle mix. Through them, I learned to care for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, as well as how to adapt to their unique needs. Today, I’m the proud owner of two very different dogs—a high-drive Belgian Malinois and a sweet Maltipoo. This combination has given me an in-depth understanding of the wide range of care dogs require, from managing the energy and training needs of an active working breed to providing the gentleness and attentiveness that smaller dogs thrive on. My Belgian Malinois has especially taught me how to read and understand dog behavior, anticipate needs, and support dogs who require both mental stimulation and physical activity. Beyond my own pups, I also care for my family member’s Golden Retriever from time to time, which has given me additional experience with friendly, social breeds. Each dog I’ve cared for has deepened my ability to accommodate different temperaments, exercise requirements, and comfort levels. I’d love the opportunity to share that care with dogs in the Thunder Bay area. Whether it’s exercise, playtime, or just companionship, I’m dedicated to making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved while their people are away. As a substitute teacher, I typically work 2–4 days a week, usually between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. On the days I’m teaching, I’m available in the late afternoons and evenings, and on my days off, I’m fully available throughout the day for walks, home visits, and boarding. Because I balance teaching with pet care, I plan my schedule carefully to make sure every dog in my home gets the time, attention, and consistency they need. Pet boarding is a wonderful fit for me, as I’m able to provide a safe, comfortable environment where dogs can feel at home. I share my home with two friendly pups of my own, so visiting dogs will have built-in companions for play and socialization. My home features a large, fully fenced backyard in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for dogs to play, explore, and relax safely. My two dogs are well-socialized and respectful of other dogs’ boundaries, making them excellent companions for visiting pups. I have experience with crate training and managing dogs in crates when needed, ensuring it’s always a comfortable and positive space for them. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all ages—from playful puppies to gentle seniors—and understand how their needs differ. Puppies require patience, training, and constant supervision, while older dogs may need slower walks, more rest, or special attention to health and comfort. No matter their age or temperament, my goal is to provide consistency, care, and an environment where dogs feel safe, happy, and loved.

About: We are a couple with a golden retriever and chocolate lab that love boarding. We know how stressful it is leaving your fur baby home and we are happy to care for your dog knowing they will never be left alone. We adore our fur babies and have catered our vacation schedule dependant on pet sitters and so WE UNDERSTAND the importance of feeling the trust that your fur baby is in good hands. Complementary an additional meet and greet with Yogi and Choco and myself. This may include a play in our yard or a walk to get your fur baby acclimatized and to see if it’s a good fit! I am in my 50s and live with my wife and our two dogs yogi and choco. I am home full time and I work from home and my wife is a physician at Thunder Bay Regional. Our fur babies get two 30-45 min walks a day, lots of cuddles and yours will be in good care. We have a large fully fenced yard with walking trails from our back yard where Yogi and Choco are off leash. If your fur baby is not comfortable off leash there would be no problem having him/her on leash. We would only board one dog or two from the same family. Your fur baby would have to be a good fit with our two. Needless to say someone would be home all the time except for an hour or two twice a week for errands/grocery shopping. Not the classic side business where dogs are left home for hours whilst the pet sitters work other jobs. We have a large fully fenced yard, we have acreage with lots of walks and cuddles. Your fur baby would have to get along with our two dogs yogi and choco. Our dogs travel most places with us and the times we can’t take them we know how stressful it is leaving them, we want you to know your fur baby will be in very good and loving hands.

About: I've had dogs all my life. Recently lost my precious pooch. Just want a temp fur baby to look after if I can help you. I'm retired and have all the time day and night to board in my home from June to October. At the moment just don't want another dog. I have a fully fenced large backyard. I will play with your pooch and take the occasional walk. I'll treat them like my own and spoiled too.

“Anjali was awesome, made us feel super welcome and kept me updated hourly with photos and videos. Walked our pup and socialized her with her cat and other dogs on the walk. Our pup loves going to Anjali and gets very excited as we go towards their front door, I would definitely recommend Anjali!”

“Jodi watched my 2 year old lab for 2 days and 1 night. She was wonderful, and even arranged for a meet and greet the week before his stay so that we could get to know her. She was so reassuring, you can tell that she knows what it’s like to leave behind your cherished pet. She took detailed notes when asking about my dog and sent lots of updates and pictures while I was away. Would recommend without hesitation. Thanks, Jodi!”

About: I have had experience with my grandparents dogs and a family friends pet. I have also taken dogs on many a walk before and know the dance to walking and caring for dogs. I am currently home full time and can give the care and attention that your pet needs. I feed my own two cats every morning and then the evening, with treats in between. I have two cats at home and we feed them in the morning and at night, if needed I can accommodate your pets preferred feeding schedule in my care and ensure they only eat what you'd prefer them to.

“Launie came through with very short notice when I was in a bind. I could not appreciate more how well she cared for my giant baby. She gave me updates even when I didn’t ask and I felt so comfortable the whole weekend even though it was Tootsies first time away from home. Forever grateful for kind people who care for others fur babies like they are their own. Would 100% use her again and would recommend her to anyone who was looking for care for a fur baby who is used to all of the love. Thanks again Launie.”

“I recently had the pleasure of entrusting Alyssa with my friend Luna for a few days. Going into this arrangement I was pretty nervous and a first time Rover user. As soon as you meet Alyssa you can tell she is a true animal lover. She immediately made me feel at ease leaving my dog with her. She is so welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic about being with your pet. I was so impressed. Furthermore her house is bright, clean, and you will be met by a very friendly (and patient) cat. If you’re like me and you read reviews to get a feel for these things then stop right here. Book with Alyssa if you can, you will not regret it. I will certainly not hesitate to book again. Thanks Alyssa!”

“Nidhi was so friendly and easy to communicate with. Cheese really enjoyed his stay there. Nidhi regularly updated with photos and videos of cheese. She accommodated our need of dropping off cheese early.I really recommend her.”
