I have a dog of my own, a spunky Australian Shepherd-Golden Retriever mix who has been with me for 12 years. I have a Dogsafe certificate in canine first aid. I worked at Houndaway, a doggy daycare and boarding service, for two years. I have experience with every size dog from extra-small to extra-large, from puppy to senior, and am comfortable around each and every breed. I have experience in providing care, feeding, cleaning up after, and administering medication to various dogs. I have looked after 1-50+ dogs at one time for hours on end. Additionally, I have stayed overnight multiple times watching over 5-10 dogs. I am ready to use my experience and passion to provide your furry companion with the best care possible. I am university student at Wilfrid Laurier, and am completing a BA in Law and Society. I have an extremely flexible schedule ready to fit you and your dog's needs. We moved to Brantford with our 6 year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Bullet in 2021 and have added little Ruby, a 2 year old Golden Retriever to our family. About: I’ve taken care of dogs for neighbours and family for 15+ years. When I was 13/14 I regularly looked after my neighbours dog who then rehomed their second dog to me shortly after getting him. After 11 beautiful years I lost my best friend in 2021 and have gotten back into/continued caring for the dogs of my friends, family, and neighbours as they trust that I will care for their dogs as much as I did for my own. He was a very well trained, very large Shepard/Pyrenees mix. He prepared me to be capable of handling large dogs and near the end, I learned a lot for caring for seniors and more needy dogs. I’ve taken care of many breeds of different sizes, and have also taken care of dogs with physical limitations (hip and mobility issues, as well as a three legged dogs) and have also taken on some with behavioural issues/young dogs still working on basic training. I am a firm believer in knowing YOUR rules and YOUR ways so that I can stick to them as much as possible for the comfort of your dog and to not cause them confusion I have a flexible work schedule which is almost exclusively done from home. When I do need to travel, I’m seldom out of the house for more than 5 hours. I live with my partner who will assist in walks/potty breaks/feeding on those rare occasions I do NOT have a fenced yard. I do keep a 20ft leash in my backyard which In warm months I spend the majority of the day in the backyard with dogs I am watching. During cooler months we spend most time indoors. We will go on leashed walks 3+ times/day weather permitting. With rain or snow we will still do at least 1 to compensate for lack of free roaming backyard. No other pets or children in the house.

I remember his family dog Shade growing up, a big gentle dog, Andrew was always showing love to his dog, if others would sit on the couch to watch some tv, Andrew would be lying on the carpet petting and playing with Shade. I see how much love he has for his parents and sisters dogs now too, always willing to care for their animals if needed. My dog Jacks is a high energy playful dog and Andrew is one of Jacks most favourite visitors, Andrew is always wanting to play, give endless scratches, play fetch and take walks. With Andrew’s outdoor lifestyle and demeanour, always positive and loving, constantly hiking and looking for outdoor adventures I think he would be a great caregiver.”
