“This was the first time I left my dog in the care of anyone outside of our immediate family. I had visited a few kennels when I was looking at boarding my dog and it was not exactly the kind of environment I was looking for, it was very institutional like, despite understanding why it needed to be that way. I wanted my dog to thrive while outside our home and have new experiences that would not be typical in her everyday and she got that and more. Colton is very committed to the dogs in his care. His dog Emma is lovely and has learned to share her dad which is not always easy. My dog Charlie had the pleasure of playing with multiple dogs during her stay which I did not expect but was happy she was exposed to multiple dogs at a time. I loved she was in a home away from home. I loved that an area in the house was dedicated exclusively to the dogs, sofas, soft toys, chew toys and plenty of water, and supervision and engagement by Colton. His daily video updates were welcomed and appreciated and I shared them with each member of my immediate family so they could see our beloved Charlie was thriving. We were very happy to pick her up. We missed her a lot. She came home happy, healthy and maybe a little tired from the experience 😉 I would highly recommend Colton if you are looking for an honest, straightforward, down to earth person who actually cares about what he is doing. About: I’d love to care for your pup with walks, visits, or overnight hang-outs! I work from home most of the time (setting my own schedule for days in the office) and will be able to spend tons of time with your pup with very few and flexible exceptions. We have our own pup, a young golden retriever who is very social and confident and silly. He plays and gets along really well with other dogs! Dogs who are well behaved, relaxed, and mellow are my favourite, but I love pups who have more energy as long as they listen really well and are gentle and kind :) We can go for walks in our quiet and safe neighbourhood and in the huge field outside our front door, and we can hangout together in our paved and closed off backyard! We are pretty mellow people and love having a pup around to walk and adventure with and to snuggle and chill with. I do not take dogs who do not walk well on a leash (unrelenting pulling is a no-go, but they also don’t have to be perfect or beside me the whole time - they can certainly sniff and explore and enjoy themselves), who are loud (consistent barking or whining), who have destructive separation anxiety, or who are aggressive with or have issues with other dogs or people (reactivity). If you’re in need of a sitter for a longer duration, it’s best if your dog would be comfortable in an office environment where other dogs may be present. It’s easier to accommodate longer stays if I can bring them with me to work, though I am able to work from home any time and certainly over shorter stays. Safety is my top priority followed closely by having fun! When outside I’ll keep your dog on a leash unless we are hanging out together in our closed off backyard.
