Adem Fehmi (aka “Dogtor Adem”) is the owner and founder of Dog-ease, a canine behavior and training business that offers a positive, modern approach to training that bridges the gap between dog and owner. Adem’s passion is to help people to understand their dogs and to help dogs to understand their humans! With his intuitive ability to read dogs, Adem’s modern approach and way of explanation helps to bridge the communication gap between owner and dog.
Adem’s fascination with dogs started as a young child and since then he has studied, observed, worked, lived with, and breathed these amazing creatures. Lucky enough to get his first dog at the age of nine (raising the money himself by washing cars and running errands in the local neighbourhood!), he soon learnt two important lessons:
- That owning a dog was extremely important to him when life got tough
- That owning a dog was not always easy and that there was a need to develop a common language between human and dog so that each clearly understood the other.
As a teenager Adem set about learning everything he could about his canine best friend, attending local dog training classes as well as working in a local kennels with all shapes, sizes, breeds and temperament of dog. During his time at the kennels (some nine years), he learnt to communicate effectively and clearly with the many breeds and also learnt how to work with any behavioural issues that the dogs came in with. His dedication to his job saw him work all hours and snub normal teenage and social events in favour of working with his four-legged friends. Even when attending university, Adem would travel back during weekends to work with the dogs at the kennels or help those in his local area with their dog training and behaviour needs on a 1-2-1 basis. Adem has always known that helping dogs and their owners is his ultimate passion.
Today, Adem works throughout the UK and is the owner of a busy dog behaviour and training centre, one of the largest in the country. He offers both 1-2-1 training and group training sessions, dependant on the needs of the case in hand. He has appeared on both TV and radio and has contributed his professional opinion and expertise to various national newspapers and online media sources. In March 2020, Adem was the official Behaviourist on Channel 4 for the world-renowned Crufts dog show. Other commitments include attending live events such as DogFest and BBC CountryFile Live, where Adem holds live demonstrations on stage and educates the audience on how to understand their four legged best friends.
