1. A howling dog is a death omen

A howling dog outside the house of a sick person was once thought to be an omen that they would die, especially if the dog was driven away and returned to howl again.

 

2. A dog bite can impregnate a woman with puppies

In India, there’s a belief that getting bitten by a dog will impregnate a human with puppies, who will give the human host rabies.

3. A walking dog portends a break-up

It’s been said that a dog walking between a courting couple indicates a quarrel will soon take place or the wedding may cancelled.

A dog who stares or growls at nothing is seeing a ghost. If you look between his ears you just might see the ghost, too.
