I grew up in Kenya, where my parents’ have always had dogs, and since I was around 10, I’ve taken care of dogs and puppies of different breeds, from Golden Retrievers to Malteses. I have experience with feeding, walking, giving oral medication, grooming, basic training, and raising puppies. I now live in Rotterdam (Delfshaven area) and don’t have any dogs of my own here yet, but I love them, which is one reason I joined this platform! One thing that makes me a bit different from many sitters is that I usually only take care of one pet at a time and don’t have pets of my own. So if your dog is uncomfortable/anxious around other dogs or just prefers having all the attention, that's no problem. Of course, I’m happy to look after social dogs too! I work full-time in climate policy research, but I mainly work from home and only go to the office a maximum of once a week. My schedule is also very flexible, so I can take dogs out throughout the day, usually around four times: morning, lunchtime, late afternoon, and before bed. My first experience as a dog sitter was in 2019 when I used to be an Au pair in Sweden, I took care of two amazing dogs, Chloe and Kajsa. After that, I moved to the Netherlands in 2020 and I was living with a family in Berkel Enschot, they have a super cute dog named Toby and I lived with them and the dog for a full year. Over: Hello ! I am Ana and I live with my partner Pablo and our dog Piko, a male 6 year old medium-sized dog. I have had dogs for a long time now. Back in Brazil, I took care of the family dogs Vicky and Balu. I walked them, fed them, and gave my old little Vicky her medicines. I miss them and love them so much ! Nearly one year ago, we adopted Piko, a rescue dog that came all the way from Lithuania to the Netherlands. Because of him, our routine is already adapted to a dogs needs. We walk Piko three times a day at least, with a fourth time when we work from home. We work from home at least two days a week, usually on Mondays and fridays. Piko also gets special longer walks on the weekends. On the weekends really most of the time we are at home with him. So basically your dog would be joining this routine (unless there is any restriction). We would love to have a playmate for Piko so he can keep socializing after leaving the shelter. We know that a dog is family, so we will take care of your friend as if they are our own ! The daily routine of me and Pablo already includes walking, feeding and playing with our dog Piko. I work two days per week at home, Monday and fridays. We walk Piko in the morning, end of the afternoon and at night; when we can, we also walk him at lunch time. We play with him everyday and he is always making us company while cooking, working, watching TV... a visiting dog would participate of this routine according to his own demands and needs. Since we have already Piko and we are only two, we are able to take only one dog at a time, to make sure that we can dedicate our full attention and care to both. Piko is an adult dog. He likes to play around with other dogs when he feels safe in the environment, but he also enjoys to have some introspective times.
Over: I've taken care of my female boxer when I was 11 and now, 20 years later, my best friend is my golden-toller retriever Chef Cappuccino. I cook his food, all his snacks are 100% meat, and I am training him with the STSK9 method. I am highly aware of body language, have basic knowledge of neuroscience of dogs' brain, provide somatic exercises after walks to relieve stress, and do fitness exercises to take care of the muscles and bones. I am working fully remote, so the dogs will always have someone with them. I live nearby open fields - perfect for getting away from the stressful urban environment. I provide both mental and physical fulfilment - walk my own dog 3-4 times a day (min 30' each), play different games, training (fitness and obedience). I clean their paws and do a general wiping after every walk to avoid infections. I have a fenced garden and a house big enough for each dog to have its room (if needed). A crate is also available either for training or chilling. Bed, towels, toys are also available.

I am fully prepared to transport your cat to the vet clinic and stay by their side during long medical treatments (like drips or surgeries etc). Over: We have had dogs for the past 5 years. We go everyday for walks in the fields where they can happily dog around. We also do daily training exercises at home to keep challenging them mentally. And cuddles, loads of cuddles! One of us works fully from home and the other one does 65% home office. Weekends are chill with extra long walks, either close to home or we take the cargo bike to explore places with our pawed friends. The garden is fully enclosed and there is always one of us at home. We live near the fields and many off-leash areas where dogs can happily play and occasionally meet a friend.

“We had a fantastic experience using the Rover app yesterday when we needed someone to watch our dog, Marley, for the day. We were lucky to find Mark, who was not only available but truly went above and beyond. To be honest, we were a bit disorganized — running late for both drop-off and pick-up — but Mark was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout. It was the first time Marley had ever been looked after by someone outside of our family and friends, so we were a little nervous about how it would go. Mark reassured us right away, saying he had some fun things planned, and let us know that although Marley was a bit anxious and scared at first, everything changed after their first walk together. Throughout the day, Mark kept us updated with photos of Marley out on a walk, in the car, and enjoying the outdoors. While we didn’t get a picture of it, Mark later shared with us that Marley had even joined him on a terrace — soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying the company. Knowing how much Marley loves being around people and going on little adventures, we were thrilled to hear all about it and see how relaxed and happy he looked. By the time we picked him up, Marley was so happy with Mark that he didn’t even want to leave! It really felt like he had just spent the day with his new favorite uncle. Over: Ik ben sinds klein al gek op honden. Ik heb zelf ook 2 Franse Bulldogs gehad. Die ik verzorgde. Ik heb een paar honden gehad die ik heb uitgelaten voor buren. De rassen waren herders, mopshond en bull mastiff. Ik hou er heel erg van om met honden wandelingen mee te maken en mee te spelen! Ik ben 18 jaar en woon in Vlaardingen. Voor mij is Vlaardingen, Schiedam en Rotterdam het fijnste voor in de buurt om te kunnen uitlaten, vanwege de afstanden. Momenteel werk parttime. Dus heb ook geen vast rooster. Ik werk in Vlaardingen dus zou zo uit werk kunnen uitlaten. Met dagen en uren ben ik niet moeilijk en kan altijd regelen als het uitlaten echt nodig/noodzakelijk is. Ik heb alleen hondenuitlaatservice aangeklikt dus bij mij thuis gaat het helaas niet. Enige uitzondering voor mij is als ik het baasje van de hond en de hond zelf goed ken uiteindelijk, kan de hond bij mij thuis zijn.

I am always gentle and caring with every little being in this world. I’ve had experience with some very active dogs, like border collies. And with the small dogs like toy terriers and shi tzuhs. I would not walk the very big dogs because I am not a big strong lady to be able to hold them next to me if they are too active. But the small or middle sized dogs are perfectly fine. I would clean after them, wash their paws and them fully if needed, take care of their food and water and everything required for them to be happy. I am currently working part-time, my schedule can be different, I for sure work on one of the weekends, but it’s mostly not the whole day anyways, so if needed, I’ll still be able to check on your pet for sure. I grew up in Kenya, where my parents’ have always had dogs, and since I was around 10, I’ve taken care of dogs and puppies of different breeds, from Golden Retrievers to Malteses. Over: Wij hebben altijd honden gehad in de familie. Na de middelbare school vlogen wij uit om elders te wonen/te studeren. Mijn ouders hadden toen besloten geen honden meer te nemen. Dat vond Ik jammer en mis het nog altijd. Verder wil ik graag mensen helpen die voor de hond tijdelijk onderdak zoeken. Ik kan met veel honden omgaan. Vind het leuk om met ze te spelen, wandelen en overal naar toe te gaan. Ik heb ervaring met oppassen. En daarom altijd tevreden baasjes ******. Mijn referenties zijn altijd opvraagbaar. Ik laat voor twee mensen 2-3x per week de hond uit en doe dat met veel plezier. Mijn naam is Matthijs, woon in Rotterdam en ben 57 jaar. Ik heb oa Post-HBO Bedrijfskunde gestudeerd en mijn hobby’s zijn fitness, fietsen, zeilen en wandelen. Ik ben alleenstaand en heb geen kinderen en huisdieren. Ik heb op dit moment geen werk, dus ruimschoots tijd. Ik woon in een 3 kamer appartement in Rotterdam Noord in de wijk het Oude Noorden op de 4de verdieping. Verder laat ik voor twee mensen 2-3x week de hond uit. Dat doe ik met veel plezier. Honden kunnen bij mij rekenen op een veilige, warme en vertrouwde omgeving. Zij kunnen zich altijd vrij bewegen, ook lekker zelf spelen en thuis voelen.
