Playtime & Belly Rubs
An animal and nature lover at heart, I am eager to spend time with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, or any other pets you may have. I have experience with obedience training, grooming, as well as administering medications and meeting special dietary needs. Personally, I have a wonderful, smart and energetic Border Collie/Aussie mix who loves making new friends. We both enjoy playing fetch and tug, learning new tricks and practicing our commands to earn treats. Vanya did an absolutely wonderful job taking our two Chihuahua mixes out for daily walks while we were out of town. We happened to be home when she got back from the final walk. Our two pups gave her lots of snuggles and kisses before she left. What more could you want from a dog walker!
Vanja was amazing and my Bentley was so comfortable that she ate her kibble. Bentley never eats with the sitter until she cannot take it any longer, which is about three days. On a three day trip, she ate after the first day which is unheard of. Vanja created a wonderful space for her to feel comfortable and enjoy. Vanja is kind, patient and a true professional, we would love to use her again.
Vanja is wonderful! We were in the area for the weekend and wanted to make sure our guy had some company while we went on a day long outing. Vanja has a great energy and made us feel comfortable right away. She was also super responsive and gave us updates throughout the time we were away. Highly recommend!
Vanja is the absolute best pet sitter around! She came to our rescue when our boy, Conway Kitty, needed it the most! Conway had just been diagnosed with diabetes and had spent 3 days in the vet hospital (we almost lost him), and we were about to leave to go on a trip for 3 weeks... With him in early recovery, we were so nervous to leave him. As soon as we met Vanja, we knew she had the compassion and care needed to take pet sit for him! She was able to deliver his multiple medications daily, take care of his special dietary needs, and gave him extra love and care while he moved through his recovery. Her attention to his well-being and continuous updates provided us so much comfort while we were away. And, to top it off, I know by his demeanor upon our return home he was well loved and cared for the whole time! Not only was Conway well taken care of, so was our home! I would recommend Vanja to any pet parent who wants to ensure their fur baby is in the best of hands and I'll continue to use her for as long as we can to watch our boy!

Schedule
I am self-employed and generally have a very flexible schedule. I do often spend stretches of time out of town (mainly LA and Bay Area), so I appreciate scheduling gigs a bit in advance so I can plan accordingly.

Safety, trust & environment
No one knows your pet better than you, so I will always defer to your lead as to what your pet needs and prefers. That being said, depending on what level of care you desire for your pet, I am happy and comfortable to take dogs for walks or to dog parks, play fetch or hide and seek, practice commands, and give all the belly rubs that they can stand. If you prefer they sleep in a crate, we can definitely manage that; or if they are like my pup and want to use me as a body pillow at night, I would be more that happy to oblige! Just let me know what you are comfortable with! If needed, I am also open to hosting pets at my home (with fenced in yard).
Pets
A typical day
A typical day can vary greatly depending on the breed, size, and age of your pet. I am happy to let your dog give me a tour of their favorite neighborhood spots, or take them to the local dog park (if you don’t mind them going for a car ride with me). Otherwise, I love to help pets engage with their toys, whether it’s a game of fetch or playing “find it” with their favorite stuffy or treats. Most of all, I’ll make sure they get plenty of ear scratches, belly rubs, and booty wiggles to keep them distracted until you return.
