Hi! I'm Steve, a Hoboken resident for fifteen years. While I'm new to Rover, I bring many years of experience caring for my own pets and those of friends, family and neighbors. I understand that entrusting your dog or cat to someone is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I enjoy getting to know each pet's unique personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable and happy in my care. My love of animals started early. Growing up, my family had dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, chameleons, iguanas, and more. As a teenager, I worked at the Delmar Animal Hospital near Albany, NY, assisting veterinarians and helping care for boarded and recovering animals. Over the years, I've also rescued five cats and cared for pets of all ages, including administering certain medications when needed. These experiences taught me patience, compassion and respect for every animal. Professionally, I'm a photographer and filmmaker. The qualities that have helped me succeed in that field - reliability, empathy, attention to detail, and clear communication - are the same ones I bring to pet care. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and will care for your pet as if they were my own.

Safety, trust & environment
I am a caring, attentive, and responsible animal lover. When walking your dog, I stay aware of our surroundings, including other dogs, traffic, pedestrians, and anything on the ground that might tempt them to investigate or eat. I always follow each owner's preferences for interactions with other dogs, but I generally err on the side of caution and avoid unnecessary encounters whenever possible. Your dog's safety and well-being are my top priorities.

Our family has used Stevie D for years as a walker. He is the best, our dogs love him so much. We have three crazy dogs who can be a handful on leashes and Steve handles them perfectly. And when he stays at our house to house sit and watch them they don’t seem to miss us at all! I have no hesitation giving Steve the highest recommendation.
I have two corgi’s and Steve has taken great care of them, sometimes staying with them at my house when I am away and other times walking them when I am too busy to do so. He is a great person and takes great care of my dogs. I never use anyone else. I highly recommend him.
I’ve known Stephen for over 30 years. He’s a kind , thoughtful person with an uncanny attention to details. He loves animals and has baby sat our pets many times over the years. I’ve found him to be punctual and an all around wonderful being.
Steve is the best and my dog loves him. i have a small dog that is usually wary of strangers but she warmed right up to Steve. he has a gentle and patient way that she really responds to. i would recommend Steve without hesitation, he is dependable and kind.
Steve is the best dog walker / sitter we have ever had. Our family has three dogs, one sweet, one crazy and one in the middle. Steve has just the right temperament and dog sense to take care of them better than anyone. When we travel Steve stays at our house and not only takes great care of our dogs, he also waters our plants! I could not recommend anyone as being more trustworthy or reliable than Steve.

As a freelance photographer and filmmaker, I enjoy a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate many pet-care needs, including weekends and holidays.
