Availability
As a full-time veterinary student, my schedule is structured and consistent throughout the week. I’m generally available for morning and evening visits every day, with additional midday availability on most weekdays depending on the location. My availability may vary slightly during exam weeks, but I will always communicate any scheduling limitations in advance. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s specific care schedule and will do my best to accommodate recurring visits or medication schedules.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide care in your home so your pet can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. During each visit, I make sure pets have fresh food and water, bathroom breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise or playtime, and plenty of attention and affection based on their individual personality and comfort level. I understand that every pet is different. Some love to play and cuddle, while others prefer a quiet presence and a consistent routine. I take the time to get to know each pet and adjust my approach to help them feel safe and comfortable. With my background as a veterinary assistant, I’m also comfortable administering medications, monitoring for changes in behavior or health, and caring for senior pets or those with special medical needs. My priority is to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can feel confident your pets are in good hands while you’re away. At this time, I am only able to provide care in clients’ homes and cannot offer boarding or daycare in my own home.
Information Sarah E. would like to know about your pet
Please tell me about your pet’s normal routine, feeding and potty schedule, exercise needs, medications or medical conditions, and any behavioral quirks, fears, triggers, or reactivity I should know about. I’d also like to know how they typically behave around other animals and people, how long they’re comfortable being left alone, and any important household rules. Please provide your regular veterinarian’s information, an emergency contact, and any instructions I would need in case of an emergency. And don’t leave out the weird stuff! Every pet has their quirks, and the more I know about what’s normal for yours, the better I can keep their routine comfortable and recognize if something isn’t right.
A typical day
A typical day with me will be tailored to your pet’s normal routine, energy level, and favorite activities! I’m happy to stick closely to their usual feeding, potty, medication, and exercise schedule so things feel as normal as possible while you’re away. For dogs, that might mean walks, playtime, fetch, enrichment activities, or plenty of sniffing and exploring outside, with lots of downtime and cuddles in between. For cats, I’m happy to provide playtime and attention on their terms—or simply keep them company if they prefer a quieter roommate. As a veterinary student with several years of experience working in veterinary medicine and animal care, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a wide variety of personalities and needs. I’ll keep a close eye on their eating, drinking, bathroom habits, behavior, and overall well-being while they’re in my care. Most importantly, I want your pets to be comfortable, safe, and able to stick to the routine they know while you’re away.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m a veterinary assistant with 3 years of experience in small animal practice and a current veterinary student at the University of Missouri. I have cared for dogs and cats my entire life and currently have one dog and four cats of my own. I also have experience caring for other small pets, including owning guinea pigs for 9 years and maintaining freshwater aquariums for the past 3 years. Through my work in veterinary clinics, I have experience administering a wide variety of medications, including oral medications, topical medications, eye and ear medications, inhalers, insulin, and other injections. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets, pets with chronic medical conditions, and those recovering from illness or surgery. I have experience working with fearful, shy, anxious, and reactive pets and understand that every animal has different needs. My goal is to create a calm, low-stress environment while respecting each pet’s comfort level and routine. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets while you’re away. My goal is to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are in experienced, caring hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
