Cats are often most comfortable in familiar surroundings, so I take care to respect their established habits, feeding schedules, and preferred spaces. As a veterinarian with experience in emergency medicine and a lifelong cat owner, I pay close attention to both their physical health and emotional well-being. I monitor their appetite, litter box habits, behavior, and overall condition, and I am able to recognize early signs of illness or discomfort. I believe that trust is earned by respecting each cat's individual personality and boundaries. Some cats enjoy play and interaction, while others prefer a quieter presence. I adapt my approach accordingly, never forcing contact and always allowing the cat to interact at their own pace. Ruth has been an excellent pet sitter from the beginning. She was really communicative and set clear expectations about how she would be able to help and give my cat Merida the time she needs before meeting a new person, as she’s very special about this and I was worried in the first place about leaving my cat with someone she didn’t know. However, her approach and patience has meant that now I can leave my cat with someone knowledgeable and that is also a veterinary surgeon (I simply couldn’t ask for more) while I’m away, even if it’s for a few days. I honestly can’t recommend her services enough.
Ruth has been an delightful pet sitter from the start. Obviously, being a vet brings in to the pet care a lot of knowledge about how being better with Mei for me, because even after 8 years with her I keep learning and Ruth always gives me a better perspective about the cat world. Furthermore, she is a lovely person who love pets in such a way that cannot be unnoticed. Also, she proudly showed me all her pets (many cats and a big and sweet dog), which adds up to her knowledge and experience with animals. That's why I would like to recommend her, because every time that we shall go out or go away, I'm certain that my cat is safe and happy, which is a big relief to me. I feel reassured about opening my home and letting a person look after my "furry daugther".
