What makes me different? I'm reliable and have my own transportation. I have a rescue cat and a long haired German Shepherd that are both treated very well. I've almost always had dogs and cats of all kinds! I also once owned a horse where I did dressage, show jumping and eventing. I understand what it feels like to leave your animals in someone else's care, and I also feel it's important to leave the pet owner informed along the way. I am comfortable caring for puppies, adult dogs, senior pets, large breeds and cats of all kinds. I can provide walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter box care, basic brushing, routine oral or topical medication when clearly instructed and can provide plenty of attention. I understand that good pet care is about much more than putting on a leash or filling a food bowl. Pets have routines, rules and individual needs. I'm comfortable following detailed feeding and walking schedules, caring for pets who are sensitive to the Florida heat, adjusting activities for puppies, seniors and pets with physical limitations or other special considerations. I'll follow the routine you establish for your pet rather than changing what already works. My Army background taught me the importance of being dependable, following instructions and showing up when I say I will. Those qualities matter even more when someone is trusting me with both their pet and their home. I've lived in the New Port Richey area for six years and am active in my local community and city government. I make my own schedule, which gives me a lot of flexibility for walks, feeding, potty breaks and drop in visits throughout the day. I intentionally keep my service area small, so I can spend my time caring for pets rather than driving all over Pasco County. I especially welcome families in the Gulf Harbors and Sea Forest neighborhoods as well as pet owners west of US 19 and downtown New Port Richey. Safety, trust & environment
As a former military officer, trust is SO important to me. I have used Rover myself for about 15 years on and off for my own pets, especially when I was new in town and did not know anyone. I've been lucky to always have a good experience, so plan to offer the same security that your pet is in good hands!

I met Raquel and her beautiful German Shepherd over 5 years ago. My dog (a Cooker Spaniel) and her dog were only three months old. We decided to enroll them both in a puppy class together. They both learned the basic. Raquel being a responsible pet caregiver lovingly continued to learn more techniques and worked with her dog daily. We would often go on walks and she taught me many unique techniques to use with my dog. Walking with them both gave me more confidence with my own dog. I highly recommend walking with Raquel and her dog!
She is an absolutely wonderful pet owner and an even more wonderful person! It’s clear how much love, patience, and dedication she has put into training her German Shepherd. He is such a well-behaved, happy, and amazing dog—a true reflection of the care and attention she gives him. She takes him on daily walks around the neighborhood and is always so caring and attentive. She also has a cat, and it’s obvious that her pets are truly part of her family. She is kind, responsible, patient, and genuinely loves animals. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pets with the same love and care she gives her own.

Schedule
I am retired and active, so I can easily accommodate when you need pet care. I love to care for pets and walking dogs is a favorite activity. If your dog doesn't walk, I can also happily push a stroller:-)

- I watch all sizes and breeds. I am familiar with bloat in large chested dogs and being careful with overheating as well as not gulping water or feeding before/after exercise. Many sitters do not even know the dangers of that, which to me is scary. Also, puppies and jumping off/down is not a good thing. Feeding schedules, amounts and what kind of food/snacks, I won't deviate from. Routine is best! Same with cats. And with all pets, I practice positive reinforcement. I've done tons of training with all my dogs and cats, and it's pretty exciting to see them practice what you taught them along with house manners and other important things like that.
