I grew up with animals all of my life. I am a PhD student, which basically means I am working from home. Working from home also gives me the opportunity to provide as much care and attention that your pet needs. I live in a very quiet neighborhood that is close to trails and parks, which is perfect for dog walks. I have a lot of experience with reactive dogs, and a soft spot for senior dogs ❤️ I also love cats and I am comfortable with handling different cat personalities (shy, energetic, territorial). I also have experience with pets who have medical requirements including insulin shots. I also offer flexible pricing for returning customers, meaning I can work with you on the price of your stay / service after the first booking if your budget becomes a concern. I try to make my services accessible for all.

Cat and house looked fine. Appreciate the photos of Charlie while we were gone.

Once again, Pond took great care of Pongo and our house, and she was quick to respond and offer help when my plane was delayed, and I thought I might need to extend care.

Pond ... WOW! There are many things worth praising about this incredible person and pet care giver. My fur baby, Gracie, is the luckiest dog ever! Gracie has Mom (me) and Gracie has Pond. Pond truly has the heart of an animal care giver, the sharp mind of a vet, and the empath abilities to sense and know what Gracie needed and when. Gracie's tail would wag and she would snuggle right up to Pond. I saw it! Gracie wasn't distracted by Mom; she wanted Pond's attention! Gracie has been aging over the time Pond has been caring for her, and Pond just goes with the flow of that. Pond will miss Gracies' sweet sixteen party because they're moving out of state. SO - if you are lucky enough to have Pond in your neighborhood in Austin, TXwe 2 ladies here in College Park MD will be jealous! I trust Pond with my precious baby girl. Pond stayed in my home or did visits, and even had the occasion to bring Gracie to their place. Hire Pond. They are someone you can truly trust with your most valued four legged family members! I truly wish Pond would be around to continue to love on Gracie until Gracie's final days (almost 16 is getting up there!) because of the way Pond cares for her - both in spurts of her energy and in her needing help sometimes up the steps or just her slowing down on walks. Sensitive. Responsible. Caring. Gentle. Fun. Intelligent and amazing Pond. Hire them!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I am a morning person and like to walk the trail next to my house in the mornings. Your pet could join me! 😊 I am home working on my dissertation, which makes completely available for the amount of time and attention that your pet needs.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I do not have any pets in my house (both of my dogs passed away last year). My backyard is fenced in and my room is on the first floor, so senior dogs should not have issues navigating stairs or high steps.

A typical day

For cats, every cat has their own personality so I will pay attention to their mood and preference. For playful cats, I love engaging with them with wand toys. I’ll make time for gently brushing cozy, nap time, and hanging out nearby to keep them company if the dog enjoys walks we go on a fun neighborhood stroll we can play with dog toys with inside and outside of the house. And for dogs who are more mellow, I’ll happily provide belly, rubs, gentle, and calm companionship.

I will need at least a 2 day notice in advance for boarding and house visiting to inform my roommates that we will have a guest 😊 but dog walking can be same day. IMPORTANT!! FOR BOARDINGS: make sure the start time and end time are correct and not guesses. I plan my day around those times and incorrect pick up or drop off times cause serious inconveniences. Requests to delay pick up times or add additional days on such short notice will be an additional $60 fee PER DAY.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
