Caring for your beloved companion
My family dog growing up was an Akita for over thirteen years which has given me tons of experience with big dogs! In late 2017, I began working for Chicago's Windy City Paws and completed numerous dog walks, pet sits and individual play time visits. In that position, I earned silver and gold certifications in the "FetchFind" dog education program! I've also interacted with multiple clients who have owned dogs with separation issues, anxiety, senior status and/or previous trauma. As a professional dog caretaker, I'm able to administer simple medications (pills and eye drops) if necessary to your dog. Should there be a potential concern with your pup, you'll receive swift notification and real time updates. I can also help train with commands such as sit, stay, come, drop it, and paw! I also always meet with the owner and dog before providing services to be able to give your dog the best experience possible! Dogs are my absolute passion, and I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your wonderful pup!
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I always have consults with new clients before a booking so I can make sure their dog is comfortable, has a safe experience and also has fun! I usually provide about 4 walks a day, playtime and lots of cuddles! I'm comfortable taking dogs to fenced in dog parks if their parents request it as well. If a dog is leash aggressive or reactive, I'm very good at avoiding other dogs and keeping everyone safe. If dogs are more comfortable sleeping with me, I am fine with that (more cute dog cuddles) but also will enforce whatever rules their parents have.
Ratings and reviews
Mariah is such a great caregiver for dogs! She clearly cares about our dog and sends great updates, takes good care of the house, and is just generally such a pleasure to work with.

My dog LOVES Mariah! She is a fantastic sitter

We absolutely love working with Mariah. We travel abroad frequently and can always trust the dogs are having fun and being loved on. The only problem with Mariah is she doesn’t have more availability (LoL). 10/10 recommend. She’s Shiba approved (and they are VERY judgy dogs 😆🦊)

Mariah is the best pet sitter!

Collin has more fun with Mariah at this point than I think he does with us 🥰 Always gives us peace of mind to know she is caring so well for him!

I can't sing Mariahs praises enough- I feel like she takes even better care of our fur babies than we do! And even with a year in between visits I could tell that both of our dogs still remembered her, and by all the pictures she sends we can see how comfortable they are with her. I dont have a single worry that they will be well taken care of and loved when we're away. Can't recommend her enough!

Schedule
I currently do freelance administrative work for arts organizations and run my own dance company. Mainly I do pet sitting since I love getting to know new animals and building relationships. Most of my clients have been with me for at least 2 years but my oldest one has been with me for 4 years!
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsover 101 lbsMariah can host up to 1 pet per night
- I'd like to know if there are any behavioral issues or anxieties that the dog experiences before doing different activities for them. For example, I used to walk an Airedale Terrier that had an extreme fear of thunderstorms and needed to be given medication as well as being crated after the walk if there was a possibility of one occurring.
