Safety, trust & environment

Every pet is different, so my goal is always to follow your routine as closely as possible. I know that keeping things familiar helps pets feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. During drop-in visits, I’ll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, potty breaks, exercise or playtime, any requested medications, and, of course, plenty of love and attention. Whether your dog loves a game of fetch, a long walk, or simply wants someone to sit with them for a while, I’m happy to tailor each visit to their personality and needs. For dog walks, your pet’s safety is my top priority. I pay close attention to body language, weather conditions, and the environment to ensure every walk is enjoyable and safe. My years in dog rescue have given me experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, so I’m comfortable working with everything from energetic pullers to shy or senior pups who need a little extra patience. For cats, I’m happy to provide feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, treats, and companionship—whether they’re eager for attention or prefer to admire me from across the room! You’ll always receive updates and photos after each visit so you can relax knowing your furry family member is happy, safe, and well cared for.

Information Em B. would like to know about your pet

The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make your pet feel comfortable and cared for! Before our first visit, I’d love to know about: 🐾 Your pet’s personality (friendly, shy, energetic, anxious, etc.) 🐾 Any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or dietary restrictions 🐾 Favorite toys, games, treats, and walking routes 🐾 Any fears or triggers (thunder, other dogs, loud noises, strangers, etc.) 🐾 House rules, commands, or training you’re working on 🐾 Leash manners and how they typically react to people or other animals 🐾 Emergency contact and veterinarian information If your pet has any quirks, don’t worry—I promise you won’t scare me off! My years in dog rescue have taught me that every animal is unique, and I believe understanding those little quirks helps me provide the best care possible. The more information you share, the more I can make our time together feel safe, fun, and as close to “business as usual” for your pet while you’re away.

A typical day

My goal is to make every visit the highlight of your pet’s day! I love getting to know each pet’s personality and finding activities they’ll genuinely enjoy. For dogs, that might mean neighborhood walks, sniffari adventures (letting them explore all the exciting smells!), games of fetch or tug, puzzle toys, practicing basic commands for mental enrichment, or simply spending time giving belly rubs and scratches. For high-energy pups, I’m happy to help burn off some energy, while senior dogs may prefer a slower stroll and extra cuddles. For cats, I’m all about interactive play with wand toys, laser pointers (if you use them), tossing their favorite toys, treat games, or simply hanging out together if they’re more of the “sit beside me while I judge you” type. Every cat gets attention on their terms. No matter the species, I believe pets deserve more than just a quick check-in. They deserve companionship, enrichment, and someone who truly enjoys spending time with them. My years in dog rescue have taught me that a little extra play, patience, and love can make all the difference—and I treat every pet like they’re one of my own.

Pet care experience

Hi there! I’m Em — dog lover, rescue advocate, professional belly-rub giver, and proud owner of a German Shepherd who keeps me on my toes every day. For years, I’ve worked with rescue dogs from all walks of life. The shy ones. The wild ones. The seniors. The puppies. The “he’s a little quirky” ones. The ones that need a little extra patience, understanding, and love. I’ve learned that every dog has their own personality, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know what makes each one special. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a neighborhood adventure, a midday check-in, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’m here to help. Why pet parents choose me: 🐾 Years of hands-on dog rescue experience 🐾 Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds 🐾 Experience with senior dogs, puppies, and special needs pets 🐾 Comfortable administering medications if needed 🐾 Detailed photo updates (because I know you’re going to miss them) 🐾 Reliable, communicative, and genuinely obsessed with dogs What you can expect: ✔️ Lots of love and attention ✔️ Plenty of pictures and updates ✔️ A sitter who treats your dog like family ✔️ Respect for your home and routine ✔️ Peace of mind while you’re away I currently offer drop-in visits and dog walks throughout the Greater Charleston area. My goal is simple: for your dog to be excited when I show up and for you to feel completely confident they’re in good hands. Let’s set up a meet and greet — I can’t wait to meet your best friend! 🐾❤️

Em E. is a very experienced and loving dog walker and watcher. I never use anyone else. She's stayed overnight and also stopped in for last-minute dog walks. My dog adores her and is always enthusiastic when she shows up. She's completely reliable.

Emily did a great job taking care of my two spoiled pups. I was nervous using Rover for the first time but she did such a great job I am looking forward to using her again. The best part was the communication and knowing when and how long she was with them. Thanks Emily!

Em is amazing! I contacted her about a week in advance of needing someone to watch our two dogs and she was quick to follow up and arrange a “meet & greet”. She is very calm and thoughtful and I knew our furbabies would be well taken care of while we were away. It stormed that evening and she kept them comforted and made sure they received their bathroom breaks (one of our dogs is still in the process of being house-trained). She shared photos/updates and it felt great to truly enjoy the evening, knowing they were in good hands. We would recommend Em to anyone looking for a dog sitter and hope to use her again in the future! Thank you Em!
