Educated and experienced sitter!
Hello! Through having a black lab throughout childhood extending into adulthood, caring for pets of colleagues (pomeranians to newfoundlands!), and earning an undergraduate degree in Animal Science with a focus on Companion Animal/Animal Biology, I've had ample opportunities to care for small to giant dogs, as well as cats (I currently have two cats and a lab!). I've cared for very well trained dogs to some very rambunctious puppies. My parents have actually jokingly called me the dog whisperer because I'm historically very good at calming down crazy pups! My partner currently has a puppy, and we joke that I'm better at working with her than he is (It's only halfway a joke!). Additionally, my focus of study in undergrad at Michigan State University was Companion Animals and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. While I've since transitioned to working in fisheries, I have 4 years of specialized experience in the classroom, humane societies, and vet clinics.

Amber was very communicative with us and took great care of our cat! We forgot to set up our automatic feeder and Amber set it up for us when she checked in.
Amber was awesome and took care of the boys with great attention. Highly recommend her for great dog walks.
Amber was the first person I have ever used through Rover and I was impressed. She was very compliant to my requests and extremely helpful. She took good care of my cat in my absence, which wasn’t exactly easy considering how shy Cleo can be with strangers. But from Amber’s updates it was evident that she really tried to bond with her and gained her trust towards the end of the week. Highly recommend.
Amber took the best care of my cat and is wonderful with every dog I’ve ever seen her with! She’s an animal lover at her heart and will absolutely treat your pet like her own!

Schedule
I’m currently a graduate student at the University of Maine and am hoping to fill any spare time with something meaningful like helping individuals with pet care! I’m available after 4 PM daily, and all day on weekends. My work schedule is also a little flexible, so morning visits are a possibility, too, depending on what is needed!
