I just recently moved to Winston-Salem from Richmond Va. I’m typically available before 8:30am or after 5pm on weekdays, and anytime on weekends. I can do up to 2 drop in or walking visits per day on weekdays and up to 3 on weekends. Send me a message for availability on specific dates!

I have two cats at my home currently so I’m not taking pets to my own home, but I am very experienced in the process of getting a pet ready for a walking, crating the pet, and attending to any needs the pet may have. I always make sure to be extra cautious when entering/leaving a home to make sure pets don’t escape. With my veterinary experience I’ve also been trained in administering medications and caring for ill cats and dogs.

A typical day
I love playing with cats and dogs I watch. Usually for dogs I try to find a safe fenced space outside where we can play fetch or play with the dogs favorite outside toy. If they’re not fetch playing dogs I am more than happy to provide pets and snuggles all visit! With cats I love using teasers and laser toys or any other favorite toy they have, and of course lots of pets! Additionally, I always make sure to send photos and descriptive updates for every visit, including photos of food/water/litter box for the pet parent’s peace of mind.

Hi! I’m Alyssa, I’ve been a Rover sitter for the past 4 years and have completed over 145 bookings. My favorite part of being a pet sitter is getting to know every pet individually and sending lots of photos and updates for the pet parent’s peace of mind. Additionally, I have over 1,000 hours of experience as a veterinary assistant and kennel technician with dogs and cats from 2018-2019 when I was an undergrad student. During that experience I performed simple procedures like nail clipping and blood draws, administered medication, cared for ill pets before and after veterinary treatment, among other skills as well. I’ve owned animals all my life and have been caring of other people’s animals since I was 10. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of all ages, and can peacefully handle those with aggressive or fearful tendencies towards strangers. I have two cats of my own who are very sassy with a lot of personality, so I like to think of myself as a cat whisperer of sorts. My main services are drop in visits and walks, I love caring for cats and dogs, and I have experience caring for rabbits, hamsters, and fish as well.
