commented question Experience with pit bulls?

I take pit bulls all the time, they are actually one of my favorite breeds. I have fostered over 33 of them and I have never had a single incident. I have had a few fosters with my when I have booked stays and not a single client of mine was bothered by the pit bull.

commented question If you hired a house sitter for your dog, would you expect them to clean the mess from an accident?

It's is definitely part of the job to clean up accidents. To get the stains out, bissell makes the pads.. I think they are called stomp and go. You activate the pad and leave it there all day until it dries and it pulls the stain. I have had great success with those on a cream rug.

answered a question my dog sheds to much I brush and brush and fur after fur keeps coming out? is there any vitamins or minerals I can give her to reduced her sheding?

Our hound is a constant shedder as well. We use a combination of the furminator (anti-shed brush) and a weekly bath and those have both cut down on the shedding.

answered a question can we keep a "stop Pull Collar" permaently on the dog while he is inside?

It truly depends on what kind of collar it is. The majority of them cannot be left on while inside. I don't even leave flat collars on my pups if they are to be crated due to a strangulation hazard.

answered a question How do I stop dogs from fighting?

I would definitely recommend working with a trainer before re-homing your pet. It could be the stress from being at the groomer on top of the different smells from your husky mix.

As far as breaking up the fight, the best way I have found to do this is to grab the hind legs of the dog and pull them backwards. This limits the potential injury to the dog and the dog cannot turn and redirect on you which is very common in all dog fights.

Also, are your dogs spayed/neutered?

commented answer Additional insurance questions?

Thank you for sending those links. I should have been more specific, I am inquiring about insurance that would cover damage to my home, like if a dog were to damage my floor. I take all the obvious precautions (crating new dogs, puppy proofing, etc...), I am just looking for a little peace of mind.

asked a question Additional insurance questions?

I get concerned about my house, does anyone know of any insurance programs that would cover damages to your home cause by a dog you are boarding??

answered a question I'm watching a dog right now that has some *serious* anxiety issues. Thankfully, he's not damaging our house, but he will not calm down until it's time to go to bed. I can only play fetch for so long...any advice on getting him to chill out?

I would ask the owner if it would be okay to give the dog rescue remedy - it is an all natural supplement that helps curb anxiety. I would also ask his owners if this is a normal behavior.
