I had a similar issue when I posted to NextDoor with a link to my Rover profile. There is a check scam going around. Basically if anyone refuses to book through Rover and offers to pay via check, politely decline and cut off contact. My response typically entails that Rover offers the emergency insurance and for the animal's safety, I require booking through Rover. A legitimate pet owner requesting you should understand this and want to keep their pet protected.
