answered a question How do you guys like the pay system used by Rover?

Overall i love rover but the 25% does seem a little much to me. I understand that if it weren't for them i wouldn't be getting these clients and i wouldn't have the insurance protection but dog sitting can be a lot of work and end up costing money depending on how much extra gas you're using up due to the stay. I also hate how long it takes for me to get my money since there are a lot of times that I'm low on money and then have to spend money on gas during the stay and then wait a day or two to get my money once the stay is done. I think 15% or even 20% would be more reasonable.

answered a question Client goodie bag ideas?

I have never included client goodie bags but this sounds like a great idea! Maybe you could add in some printed out photos from the stay with the report card and possibly some coupons/gift cards to pet stores

commented question Norms of the pet sitting interview? Tour of the house?

This doesn't sound normal to me. The sitter should have been happy to show your mom around and make sure she is comfortable with the set up to be sure that it is a good fit. It also concerns me that the woman didn't try to pet the dogs. Seems like she's hiding something and might be neglectful

answered a question Why does my dog sit under my chair?

your dog probably just wants to be close to you because they care about you! (and if you're eating they probably want a little food too)

commented question Why is my dog eating grass?

Dogs typically eat grass if they have an upset stomach because it leads to vomiting which will remove whatever is upsetting their tummy (or at least thats their mindset). The fact that your dog didn't used to do this may mean he's not feeling well but it may be nothing at all, just keep an eye on it

answered a question Why does my dog like to sleep with me?

Dogs are derived from wolves. Wolves do everything in packs, including sleeping. Your dog wants you to be their companion in all aspects of life and loves you!

asked a question Do sitters typically include walks during the day in the overnight fee?

I am a new sitter and will be watching a dog overnight for 5 days. The owner said she would like me to give her dog a walk in the morning, afternoon/midday, and evening and mentioned an additional fee for the midday walks. Originally I figured all three walks would be included in my $25 overnight fee. When watching a dog for a couple days while an owner is away do you charge an overnight + midday fee? If so how much is a typical midday fee and how do we go about adding it on to the service?
