answered a question | How to find sitter who stays at our house for two weeks? Hi Craig: I don't know if you are still searching, but you should look under House Sitting for someone to stay in your home. Be sure to check the sitter's availability on their calendar, as well as read through their profile to ensure a best fit for you and your dog. |

answered a question | Is there a way to send a mass email to your clients? I agree with Walt, due to security reasons, there is no way to send a mass email to all of your clients. I have in the past, created my message in Microsoft Word, then copied/pasted into each individual clients through the Rover messaging system. |

commented question | I am trying to write a nice review for my walker Renee A., but it doesn't appear on my Android APP. Seems like its only set-up for overnight stays. Can you help me write a review? I think you need to speak to Rover Support about this. You should call them at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]. Usually, Rover sends you an email asking to leave your sitter a review after the service is completed. |
answered a question | What supplies do you have or bring with you? I always have more than enough poop bags and hand sanitizer. I keep "dog towels" and pet cleaning wipes for cleaning up after muddy walks. I carry PetSafe Spray (like pepper spray that's safe for dogs) on walks. I use Musher's Secret during winter months to keep paws safe from road/sidewalk salt. I also have a variety of leashes (from basic, WalkEZ leash for pullers, an extra long leash for trail walks, reflective leash for later evening/night time, slip lead, etc.). An adjustable collar - just in case. I also make my own home made dog treats so I'm sure to have some with me every day (I always ask permission to give treats during the M&G). Whether I'm walking, dropping in, or house sitting, I always have a small flashlight with me. It's good to know where the breaker/fuse box is in your clients' homes in case the power goes out. I also have a home made Pet ER kit that I keep in my car, along with some blankets to use in emergencies. I always have bottled water and dog (fetch) toys in my car, along with some dog bowls. I have some ER vinyl gloves and shoe covers too (from a healthcare worker when the canine flu broke out last year - better be safe than sorry!) Most of my clients have decent equipment, but I like to be prepared. |
commented answer | When do you start and stop your Rover cards for walks? I also agree with Walt. I start and stop the walk as I'm unlocking and locking the door. This way I don't forget to start or stop the walk on the app. |

answered a question | How do I edit/change my cell number in settings? Hi Maureen: I think you have to contact Rover Support to get your phone number changed on your account : [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. answered a question | how can an owner search specifically for me as a sitter? If potential clients have the direct link to your profile, they will first be prompted to set up their pet's profile, then they can get access to your profile via your profile link. If they have your profile link and have their pet profile set up in Rover, they won't need to search for you. |

answered a question | Are Rover sitters Rover Employees? Rover sitters are not employees, we are Independent Contractors. Rover has never sent me a 1099 because I deposit my pay to PayPal, then transfer the funds to my bank. I believe Rover only sends a 1099 if you receive payments via check, which Rover charges a fee for and takes more time to get paid. I use the Schedule C for tax purposes and set aside 30% of my pay for taxes, which is more than enough - 20% will most likely cover the amount of taxes that need to be paid, but you should consult with a tax professional or accountant for the best advice. |

answered a question | Why does my dog hump stuffed animals? To answer this question in the most basic way....Dogs hump things (or other animals) because it feels good. Even if they are fixed....male or female, they still get the desire to hump. Dogs aren't people, so they have no qualms with humping stuffed animals, people's legs, etc. |
