commented answer Sitting for puppies?

I do that too even with everyone that has ever contacted me and did not hire me. It is mosquito season and I wanted to send a friendly reminder to apply the flea/tick/heartworm medication.

commented answer Sitting for puppies?

I have taken care of puppies in my home that were on the same schedule. My senior dogs are fully vaccinated so it was ok but I wouldn't recommend trying to accomplish that. I just got lucky because they lived in the same building. Also, take off your shoes and put them up. Parvo can travel .

commented answer Sitting for puppies?

People are tricky. Like we don't know what a puppy looks like. Love the meet and greet policy!

commented answer Skipper: Can we talk about what sets Rover apart?

I don't think Skipper is going to make it in this market. Rover Reigns and Wag as getting so much bad press. I think it may be possible for Rover to get that as well. The Wag on demand model is a horrible program. It puts people in contact with dogs they are not comfortable walking.

Brilliant!!

or a death in the family but you get my point. We get the booking first.

commented answer Not a question... but a warning to all your sitters. Did this happen to you?

And creating a false sense of urgency is the surest sign for me that something is off. People freak out because they haven't found a pet sitter weeks before they leave town. Don't You? The only emergency is surgery.

answered a question Not a question... but a warning to all your sitters. Did this happen to you?

We are the Chief officer of everything! I get you. WE love animals and would never want them to suffer because of a grifter or a con. Those types of people can count on our hearts but I have learned to trust my intuition a lot more through Rover. When you work with the honesty of animals and the people that love them, anything that seems over the top, most likely is.

answered a question Sitting for puppies?

It was not my intention to care for puppies; however, it seems the Universe had a different plan. I also take records for all shots and take the pups to the groomer, send reminders regarding heartworm medication, etc...I have regulars and will do whatever I can to keep their furries healthy and happy.

answered a question client reviews??

This exists: After you complete a Rover engagement on your phone, we have the opportunity to review the pet/person/situation. Sometimes it just pops up on your phone when you are already busy but we can always leave reviews online.

commented question client reviews??

We can. The application on your phone offers the option and you can also do so if you are on a computer. This is a great option and helps the RoverNow folks.

Do you have a tear-off flyer template?

commented question Does Rover offer flyers?

Thank you. I was going to make some just for my apartment community and wanted to reach out to see if anyone was using a template. That would be great, right?

commented answer Is it fair to charge a cleaning fee if the owner did not notify me of their dogs incontinence?

But to answer your question, I do not think we have any recourse for damages to our personal property after agreeing to accommodate their pet.

I am fortunate enough to have water-resistant flooring in my common areas but don't even let my dogs on my bedroom carpet in this newer apartment (the padding or carpet was cleaned but not replaced and they found a spot quickly after move-in) and separate with a swing gate. I did get a pet bissel on Amazon which helped once I figured out what they were doing in one spot that wasn't easy to see. I really think it is worth the investment and considering how you do your taxes could be a potential business write-off.

answered a question I am new to Rover and I have posted on social media outlets to try and bring customers in but I haven't received any in the last 2 weeks. How can I get more customers coming my way?

Have things improved based on all of these recommendations? This is Textbook Rover and super-great people responded.

commented answer Question is no longer vaild?

And always check their records for the safety of your own animals.

answered a question Question is no longer vaild?

I get requests from people that want me to board their cats for $10 a night regardless of the fact that I have 2 small dogs and my own cat. I do not board cats. In fact, I had to turn off all of my boardings unless a repeat client needs it for their dog but I have had people think that they can drop off 2 dogs and a cat without a meet and greet. I would rather send them to another Rover Dog friend and go do the cat visits.

asked a question Skipper: Can we talk about what sets Rover apart?

Skipper is Moving to Dallas and trying to find dog walkers? What can we say to clients that sets us apart? I don't want yet, another lockbox on the door that is not ours just as Rover Now is getting launched in Dallas. I need some marketing materials to build a relationship in the apartment buildings that I work in.

And at the very least get the extensive background check for 15 dollars more. Your potential clients will appreciate that and I would highlight that you don't have pets so you can do house sitting in your profile.

Great Answer. Whether you work for Rover Full/Part time, it is important to be the best fit. Extra money, Hustling and other things won't work and of course, you have to be willing to have the meet and greets.

commented question How do I stop my puppy from playing aggressively?

Before I have her here later this month overnight, I also have a few weeks of puppy daycare. I just want her mom to be able to love on her and not get bit by March 3rd.

commented question How do I stop my puppy from playing aggressively?

I am in the same boat. I have a VIP client and did all of the right things for the last 2 months. She is 6 months and still very aggressive. I took care of a puppy of the same breed and she was remarkably different. I do puppy day care for my client a few days a week and will do boarding too

answered a question Does Rover charge cat visiting price for each cat?

You should chat with your Rover Sitter. If I have a dog walk and there is also a cat, my rate is much lower as an add-on; however, 2 cats always shows as full price for both which I adjust based on my conversation with the potential client. Considering how many kitty visits I had over the holidays, I bet Rover will add a function so we can book multiple cats more easily without giving the idea that it is too expensive to have someone come in and look after 2 or 3 cats.

answered a question Why doesn't rover stop taking so much money?

There is a lot of overhead for creating and maintaining an effective application: Security, User Experience, Updates that work with every operating system, etc... Twenty percent is fair for all that they do offer in my humble opinion. Let's not forget the people that answer the phones in case of emergency.

commented question What can we do to dog sitter who wouldn't accept her responsibility for my dog injury and disappear from Rover?

As a pet parent, Rover client & sitter, I am profoundly sorry to learn about what happened to your dog. This is not the Rover way. Our company is very specific about caring for multiple dogs and being present when they are together.

commented answer Why would sitter ask to take a picture of the client?

These are all valid points. I was a client and now a sitter.
