commented question Overnight care totaling 36 hours - how do i charge?

I had allot of that in the beginning. Clients try to take advantage. Put in your profile service is for 24 hrs only. Anything over that is charged at daycare rates. Remind booked clients of pick up time.

commented question Repeat client wanting discounted rate?

I recently spoke Rover about discounting and they are ok with it so long as you charge a min of $10. New client wanted big discount for 21 days, booked and cancelled next day! At Xmas time! Pissed!

commented question How common is it to have clients not respond?

I agree Penh. Or they contact you for availability and don't get back to you with their plans. You have to contact them for their decision and sometimes still no reply. Frustrating.!

commented question How do you get repeat clients to review recent stays without annoying them?

They send a request, I reply, they book, I accept. Whether it is being booked as a repeat I don't know. Rover should keep track and adjust the score. Or offer client doing the booking to mark it as a repeat, or me marking it as such when I accept???

commented question How do you get repeat clients to review recent stays without annoying them?

Personally I don't understand why they have this option to review every stay with a repeat client. Most of my clients don't. I don't bother them to leave another review. And booking a client as a repeat is confusing too.

commented question How do sitters handle the 4 nights..but really 5 days issue...ie, do you add a daycare rate?

Yes and post on profile overnight is for 24 hrs. Any time over that at pick up charged at daycare rates. Clients know what they are doing...stealing time from you.

commented question Fake Requests - Are Other Long Time Sitter Getting Allot of These Too?

I feel something is going on? Getting discouraged with going on with Rover. There has to be away to screen these fake requests. Hv sum rules of conduct too for clients.

commented question Fake Requests - Are Other Long Time Sitter Getting Allot of These Too?

I don't know if they're fake. But hv been with Rover 4 yrs. I hv always been fully booked for Thanksgiving & Xmas. Had 1 dog, repeat, for TG & 1 wk out for Xmas hv 0 bookings with 2 pending & 1 sneaky cancellation? Had 10+ requests but no bookings. Allot of my sitter bailed & now looking for a place

commented question Should you follow up with a client?

Good business practise. Opportunity to get helpful feedback and remind them to leave review. Shows you care about their dog and good way to get repeat clients.

commented question I recently received a request to board a dog for 4 days and the total price does not match my rates is this because of coupons or something?

I am constantly having to edit fee schedule. Don't know if clients are selecting wrong or is program not allowing them to select correctly? Can't do subtracting in program of numbers. Can't add services or define adjustments. Slows me down on responding on requests.

commented question Are you concerned about vaccinations being up to date?

All evidence seems to show his dog brought here. No dogs before him reported sick, our dog came down w it after his left and no dogs immediately after reported sick. I checked on all. Most services dealing with dogs ask for proof, you should too.

commented question Are you concerned about vaccinations being up to date?

Yes and you should to. Learned my lesson this year when a good repeat client's dog brought kennel cough into my home. My sister's dog came down with it, had to remove myself from available 10 days and disinfect my home. Cost me lots of money. Now owner hasn't contacted probably thinks dog caught it
