commented answer Anyone scared of big dogs?

I told her nicely, I don't feel good with the dog. She said, Oh, come on. You will be fine. So, she left. I texted her. I said, we are not a good fit. She said, Oh, come on. Give it a few hours. That is when I called Rover and they took over Thank God.

Easy. It was confused very easy. I schedule a meet and greet for 8: a.m. Tuesday morning. No mention of it being the actual day. Nothing. So, she came in, we had a meet and greet, and then she said, OK! See you at 8 tonight and left.

Right. I called them and they said 20%. That is why I don't believe what I read on the net.

asked a question Anyone scared of big dogs?

Anyone else scared of dogs over 90 pounds? Ok, So, I had a client reach out to me for doggy day care for one day. I gladly asked for a meet and greet. She came here this morning for the meet and greet. The dog is 90 pounds and really big so I got scared and said I don't think we are a good fit. She said, Oh, come on. You will be fine. Then she left. I thought it was a meet and greet but today was the day she wanted to use me. I said, I am scared. It is a huge dog. She said, well, you will be fine. Call me if you need me. She left. The dog was not a good fit. Pooped and peed all over and it was just staring at me. I called her and I said I am so very sorry but I don't feel good with your dog and I will gladly help you find another sitter. She ignored me. Rover called her. She ignored them. To make a long story short, Rover helped me so much and they found another sitter. I will put big dogs off my preferences. Anyone else had this when the meet and greet turned into the actually stay?

asked a question Should you follow up with a client?

Hello!

I had a dog in doggy day care. It went very well. A few ups and downs with a small puppy but it went well. They told me they would need me right away but it it has been a week since I have heard from them. Should I drop them a note and thank them again and ask how their dog is doing and that I am here for them again? Or, should I just leave it as it.

asked a question Getting attached to your pet sitting dog?

I am new to Rover so I have a lot to learn. Is anyone else getting attached to their Rover dog? I am and have a hard time saying good bye. I will just have to learn to be strong. :(

asked a question Doggy Day Care Round Worms?

I had doggy day care all week at my house for a puppy. Today, now that the booking is over, the owner texted me and said, "Oh, our dog has round worms". Should I be concerned? I never thought to ask a client, "Does your dog have round worms." Learning every day!!

asked a question Dog nice to me but to owners aggressive?

I have been having a two month old puppy doggy day care at my house this week. The puppy is full of love and kisses and is an Angel to me. The owner (very nicely, not putting any blame on me) asked me if the dog has been aggressive. I said never. She said that the dog has been biting (not play) several times over at his house and has turned aggressive like two different personalities. I am shocked because I have never seen this. They just adopted him two weeks ago so maybe switches homes like this every day is not working for him. She asked the vet and he said, Oh, just give him more exercise, but that hasn't help. Has this happened to you before?

Thank you Deb. I feel like such a terrible person. So, you don't think I should quit?

asked a question Pet sitting a puppy that is not potty trained?

I am brand new to Rover and I am absolutely in love with Rover. I had doggy day care for only two dogs and they are sure quite a different experience. I just finished the whole week with a two month old puppy and I had zero idea what I was getting myself into. My first dog was older and was just a gem. He would just sit on the couch and cuddle and go to the bathroom outside. However, the puppy I just had was a nightmare. I am just wondering (so I can learn) what other pet sitters would do and think in my situation. So, I took the puppy out very often and he didn't go to the bathroom. Come home to my nice small carpeted apartment and he pees and poops all over. It has been nothing but a nightmare. He won't stop biting and he won't stop chewing. I just clicked on my profile that I am not going to do puppies anymore. Am I wrong for doing this? Does this mean I am a quitter? I don't want to be a quitter but I am not a trainer in potty training. I should have seen the red flag when they came first to meet me and they said, "Yeah! We finally found someone to talk our puppy!" Please give me some guidance.

asked a question Puppy Barking?

I have a two month old puppy for day care. In the house he constantly barks loud and nothing can stop it . How can I stop the puppy from barking endlessly?

commented answer Puppy cannot walk on leash?

OK Walt. Thank you so much. Should I ask the owner to buy it or I should buy it.

asked a question Puppy cannot walk on leash?

I have doggy day care with a two month old puppy. The owners just got him two weeks ago so I assume that he has no training based on his actions. The main problem is (other than using the bathroom all over the house) is he does not know how to walk on a leash. Outside he tries all his might to break free from the collar and talk off. I told the owner this and they put him on a harness. However, it is no good. It is small and it has valcro and it is no better. When I walk him all he does is pull and try to break free. He won't follow me as he just wants to go his own way. I am very scared that he is going to get lose. Should I just buy a harness that I trust on my own?
