| commented answer | has anyone stayed in a filthy house? Thank you so much for your input! I actually did call Rover and the poor gal was stumped! So this is what I did; I messaged the home owner but have not heard back from them. They are overseas so the time difference could be a factor. I looked up organic remedies on the internet and apparently ants don't like mint. Who knew!? So I made a mint infused water and have sprayed it around the floor boards and windows in the room I'm sleeping in. I do have a can of Raid if need be! I've swept, vacuumed and washed all linens. My fingers are crossed! |

| asked a question | has anyone stayed in a filthy house? I accepted a 2 week in-home job and this is day 3 of the stay. I did the meet and greet in the pets home and noticed that it looked quite "lived in", but that was tp be expected with 2 dogs and 3 kids. It was not until I actually "moved in" for the stay that I realized just how awful the house is. By the way, during the meet and greet, the owner told me "no house work, just take care of the dogs". Well, the house is covered in cobwebs! window sills, under furniture, ceilings, etc. I see lots of spiders as well. Last night as I went to get in bed (I'm in the guest room) my bed was covered in ants!! This family is very organic, green and vegan. I'm sure pesticides are a no-no. The owners are gone for another 10 days (out of the country). I'm not sure I can handle another 10 days of this! It's creepy and grosses me out. I've left a message with http://Rover.com and should hear from them today. Any advise? Has anyone else dealt with this? |
