answered a question How long did it take for you to get your first client?

My first was pretty immediate. I had my prices down very low in the beginning, and after the third customer (which was after a month) I gradually raised my prices up. :)

commented answer Does anybody know what the "off peak" seasons are?

Carmen has it about right. September is ALWAYS dead, although October is usually pretty busy for me.

answered a question What pet health insurance do you have?

I also use VPI (Nationwide). It costs about $30 a month for their most expensive plan, and in the one year I've had it, they've paid off 80-90% of both my dog's surgeries. (Hope they don't drop me after this last surgery, though!)

answered a question How do I stop my dog from digging in my backyard?

This was a hard one for us to overcome, too. I just had to BE there to stop it immediately. I couldn't just let my dog out and ignore her and expect her to understand that I didn't want holes dug, so I made it a point to be out there and immediately scold when she dug. If I couldn't be outside with her, I set an alarm for 5 minutes on my phone to go out and check.

She got the point after about 6 months of constant redirecting.

answered a question Where do you buy your dog food?

Tractor Supply Company. And I'll wait until they send me the 10% off total purchase coupon in the mail. Stock up on wet/dry food and treats at the same time. :)

answered a question What is your technique for getting a dog to walk better on a leash?

If it's an extendable leash, DEFINITELY trade it in for a 6-foot one. I've tried multiple strategies on different dogs, but I've found it comes down to two things: 1.) the dog's age, and 2.) how consistent you are.

I'm not excusing puppies from good training, but they just want to GO! if your dog is young, and this is the first exercise they've gotten for the day, chances are they will NOT WANT to slow down. Try throwing the ball around the yard for a bit before your walk.

But regardless, if you're consistent, they'll catch on...eventually. :)

answered a question Favorite Dog foods?

I personally use Taste of the Wild, but you're going to find a PLETHORA of opinions.

Just do your research, ask your vet what YOUR specific breed needs (i.e. joints, teeth, etc), and you're pup will be just fine. :)

answered a question How do you care for your dog's teeth?

I use two different brushes. Those silicone finger brushes meant for a babies mouth are awesome for those hard to reach places, or even for little dogs (http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Buddy-Finger-Toothbrush-Blue/dp/B00I8OQC7U/ref=sr (http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Buddy-Fing...)13?ie=UTF8&qid=1453821403&sr=8-3&keywords=finger+toothbrush).

My pup is about 60 pounds, and we use this 3 sided brush meant for a dogs mouth (http://www.amazon.com/EZDOG-Triple-Toothbrush-Large-Breeds/dp/B003R0Y08S/ref=sr (http://www.amazon.com/EZDOG-Triple-To...)111?ie=UTF8&qid=1453821549&sr=8-11&keywords=dog+toothbrush)

All you need to do is make it a habit for both you and your pup. :)
