commented answer | I hired a sitter and don't get updates, is that normal? The link says “At the Meet & Greet, ask the dog owner how often they want updates. Most appreciate a quick photo and text update once a day, but send updates as often as the owner requests.” also when I left the review, rover specifically asked “did you get at least 1 update a day?” |
commented answer | I hired a sitter and don't get updates, is that normal? I left her a 5 star review talking about all the stuff I liked and mentioned that more updates would have been nice but everything else was great. I also sent her this link. Apparently 1photo/ update is normal per day. https://www.rover.com/blog/sitter-resources/customer-service-tips/%3C/p%3E (https://www.rover.com/blog/sitter-resources/customer-service-tips/) |

commented answer | I hired a sitter and don't get updates, is that normal? It's an interesting experience seeing how rover works from a clients perspective. I was surprised at how many sitters I had to contact until I found one that knew their availability 2 months in advance, knew how to schedule a M&G and showed up. I think she's doing a great job on everything else. |
commented answer | I hired a sitter and don't get updates, is that normal? We didn't discuss it during the M&G because it didn't occur to me I wouldn't get updates. |
asked a question | I hired a sitter and don't get updates, is that normal? I've been a rover sitter for over a year and my clients always get at least 1 photo and update per day (on dogs that stay 3-4 weeks, I run out of things to say and new pics to take). I recently hired a sitter on rover for the first time and getting updates is like pulling teeth. I've only gotten 3 photos total in 9 days and only when I specially say "Hey can you send me a photo?" and I only get a text reply if I ask "How's my dog?" Is it unreasonable for me to expect more updates and photos? |

asked a question | Client requesting additional insurance. Is it a scam? A potential client wanted me to walk their dogs for 5 days. I set up a meet and greet. After they confirmed the meet and greet, they messaged me asking me if I carried an additional insurance policy in addition to the Rover Guarantee. When I told them I did not, they insisted I purchase and additional insurance policy costing approximately $130 per year and they would be willing to pay for the first week of the policy "to protect yourself and myself" and "because the Rover Guarantee isn't real insurance". I archived the request. Does any of this seem odd to you? Have you had a similar experience? How did you handle it? |

commented answer | Saw a flea on an 18 day stay dog. What do I do? Actually, the dog is still here. I messaged the owners who confirmed the dog was not already on any medications so I went ahead an did topical fipronil on my dog and their's then gave them both a bath. It's the only flea I've seen so it must have gotten picked up on a walk or something. |

asked a question | Saw a flea on an 18 day stay dog. What do I do? I have 2 dogs boarding here and one is a regular and the other lives with cats so I'm pretty sure the fleas came from the long term stay dog. I have enough fipronil topical treatment for my dog and the 2 boarders. The regular is getting picked up tomorrow but considering he probably was exposed to fleas I think he should be treated. I already messaged both owners to ask if the dogs are already on flea meds. Do I have to ask the owners before I put it on them? |
