2018-11-16 16:48:21 -0600 answered a question As a sitter, is it a bad idea to take owners dogs to the dog park (with their permission) ?

I did this per the owner's permission after he said his dogs do great in dog parks. So I took them. I had to leave after only being there for 5 minutes. They were out of control. I don't do that anymore because it could be a risk to the dog in my care, as well as the dogs at the park.

I only do drop-in visits and I have a regular weekly client asking if I can house sit her puppy for 5 hours a day, for 5 days. I am considering doing it, but how would I price this? My drop-in rate for puppies is $17 for per visit.

2018-10-15 03:04:12 -0600 answered a question Are you concerned about vaccinations being up to date?

Part of the reason people use Rover instead of boarding facilities for example, is because a lot of sitters don't require proof of vaccination. Which works out for pet owners that choose to space them out, or those that choose to only give a select few. Be it for medical or personal reasons. The only vaccine required by law is rabies. However, If an owner wants to use a groomer or boarding facility, all would be mandatory. As for Rover, its up to the sitter's preference. Only do what you feel most comfortable with.

I'm not concerned with it. It's complete up to the owner. If it's something important to you, you can add it to your profile and can say you will ask for proof. Some dog owners, like myself, space out vaccines, or only give a select few. But it's up to what you're comfortable with. I for instance am not comfortable with a certain breed, so I have that on my profile.

2018-10-11 15:46:39 -0600 answered a question How many picture would you recommend sending during a sit?

For drop-in visits, I take about 8-10 photos per visit. I myself love receiving lots of pictures of my dogs when I'm away. And it seems my clients do too. In my opinion, t's better to send too many photos than too little.

2018-10-11 15:46:38 -0600 asked a question Name not coming up in Search?

I've been a Rover dog sitter for over a year now. I recently moved to Nashville from Houston, so I changed my address. I noticed when I went to search for someone by zip code to do a walk, 7 pages come up of sitters, but my name doesn't show up at all. Any one else have this problem?
