answered a question Why does my dog smell so bad?

Something else you could check, is their collar.

I used to think one of our dogs had really bad breath, until I discovered she had been rolling in bunny poo and it was all over her collar. Gross huh?!

The other thing that can make their collars smell bad, is swimming in a lake. Smelly fish water is gross too!

So whenever they get their baths, I always check their collars and give them a good wash if needed.

answered a question Why does my dog howl in his sleep?

One of our dogs howls in his sleep once in a while....but he has never done it when he is awake. 🐺🐺

answered a question What's the best baby shampoo for dogs?

I agree that you should always use a dog shampoo when they are bathed.

However, when one of our dogs had an eye infection, our Vet suggested J&J baby shampoo to clean the eye area. So, from that point on, I always keep a trial size bottle on hand to wash our dogs faces with it when they get a bath. It just takes a drop or two on a wash cloth. But I definitely would not use it on their whole body.

answered a question What should I do if my dog has diarrhea?

As always, if you are ever unsure...call your Vet. But like others have said, dogs have upset tummies just like humans once in a while.

That being said, If our dogs have an occasional upset tummy (no other symptoms), our Vet has told us to try a child's dosage of Imodium AD after the first loose stool. If that doesn't work, or if any other symptoms are present, last longer than a day or has blood, contact your Vet immediately.

answered a question How do I know if my dog is diabetic?

Ellie developed diabetes when she was 9 years old. She lost a lot of weight quickly, even though she continued to eat normally. She started drinking a lot more water than usual and started having accidents in the house. She became lethargic and you could tell she just didn't feel well.

As others have stated, check with your vet and they will check his/her blood glucose level and you can proceed from there.

I hope your baby doesn't develope the disease...but if he/she does, please know that it is easily managed and your dog can live a very happy and long life with it. The key is finding it early and treating it properly. Good Luck!
