Does anyone use a hold harmless agreement?

I've been a Rover dog sitter for a year now, and someone recently asked me if I have my clients sign a hold harmless agreement. I thought it was great question. There are so many situations that could happen, and I'm curious if I'm vulnerable to law suits if something were to happen (which I do EVERYTHING in my power to avoid). Thanks for any help!

That is a good question! I'm assuming that we are all covered by the Rover insurance as far as liability goes...as long as you aren't breaking any laws during the stay.

I worked in commercial insurance for 17 years, and honestly, I wouldn't bother with something like that. The person who asked you was probably also in the insurance trade. It wouldn't mean anything really anyway in court. If someone wants to sue for something, they would go for Rover (sorry, Rover) because they have a bigger wallet than you do.
