What tried and true carpet cleaners do you prefer?

asked 2015-12-03 11:17:55 -0600

We are having an issue with guest dogs urinating in the same places as previous guest dogs. We have tried an enzyme cleaner and having the carpet professionally cleaned. What specific products, brands, do you have success with?

Enzyme cleaner is my favorite, but Jeremy likes Woolite. Keep an eye the first 24 hrs bc that's when most marking occurs.

Hot, almost boiling water soaked and wet vacced up will disinfect and remove stains, no chemicals needed. Pocketbook, non toxic, and allergy friendly.

If you prefer a store bought product or really need to remove any trace of scent your dog might be picking up, I use natures miracle. Spot shot, is also excellent at stain removal. Finally, good old hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle for spot treatment, then use wet vac after, also works well.

I use Nature's Miracle or Kids N Pets, as well as Folex for stains, but what I really want is a good steam cleaner.
