When a client requests boarding over a several day period, do sitters frequently also charge daily "daycare" fees?

It seems to me that if i'm boarding my pet it should assumed that the pet will be with the sitter for more than just an evening and that should be included in the boarding price. Am I missing something? I've never used a service like this before, so I'm trying to figure out how it works.

Thanks!

Whenever you board your pet with a Rover sitter, the "nightly" rate you pay is for a 24-hour period times however many days of the stay. If you drop your dog off at 8 am, then you will need to pick your dog up by approximately 8 am on the last day of the stay. Overages are subject to daycare charges at the discretion of the sitter.

If you are getting different information from a sitter, I suggest you call the Rover Customer Support Team at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team]

The only time you might get charged a daycare fee is if you went over the 24 hour period. So lets just say you dropped of your dog at 9am but on pick up day you won't pick him/her up until 9pm, then a daycare fee would apply because you are over by 12 hours. It is best to ask the particular sitter of her arrangements and fees.

I'm in agreement with Karen and Frances. The nightly rate covers a 24 hour period of time, and the only way the nightly rate would be used in conjunction with the daycare fee is if there is a difference between the drop off time on first day and the pick up time on the last day, to cover the period of time the dog is in a sitter's care beyond the 24 hours covered with the nightly rate. How sitters handle those extra hours when drop off and pick up times differ is something each sitter decides and you'd have to discuss your needs and their rates before committing to a stay.

Otherwise, daycare is a separate service some sitters offer in addition to overnight boarding rather than something charged alongside the nightly rate for the duration of a multiple day stay.
