I'm having trouble getting my first pet sitting job?

I have taken the steps to make sure I have a good profile and I've set my rate 5-10 dollars below that of other sitters in my area. Is there anything else I can do besides wait patiently?

Yes I had the same problem so i ordered some marketing tools from the rover store, I have business cards, cards, car magnets and they actually have your URL on it and a code you make up so its specific to you and the client gets $20 off the first stay and if they use your code for another sitter you get $10. This is a great way to start, I passed them out to anyone that would breath. Keep it up and it will pay off. GOOD LUCK

I also looked quickly at your profile and would suggest rewording the 1st sentence to: I have (xnumber of) years experience caring for many dogs. (Then state the sizes or breeds, how many you cared for at any given time, and what you did with/for them). Say what animals you love (dog/cat/bird/other). Add pet pics of any you cared for or places you'd spend time with them.

It's fine to use all your experience, whether paid or not, when you cared for families, friends, and neighbor's pets as you build your profile.

I looked at your profile. It seems incomplete and you start out saying that you are not a professional. I would add more pictures of you with dogs, remove the first line in your profile and fill in the rest of your profile, it is missing a lot. I only took a quick look, hope that helps. Happy sitting, Amber G

Some other ideas:

Post to Craigslist; Post on FB; Make a Google+ page; Email friends; Order business cards (the first 100 are free) and give to other service-oriented friends to hand out as referrals. Here's the link: https://www.rover.com/community/quest... ; Tweet your code to all your friends; Post to NextDoor (if you have that in your area)
