In Home Pet Sitting vs. Home Insurance?
My home insurance is canceling my policy because I board pets in my home. Anyone face a similar issue? What did you do?

Check out other home insurance companies. It may depend on how many dogs you take and the breeds. Most insurance companies don't cover some breeds like pit bulls, Shepard's and a couple others.
You may want to check out Business Insurers of the Carolinas. That's who insures members of Pet Sitters International, You'd probably have to join the organization, but this might be worth considering.

Business Insurers of the Carolinas has insured my business. I am happy with the policy. What I now need is home owner insurance. I'm having trouble finding a company that will underwrite a policy for my home because I board dogs. BIC doesn't insure homes outside the Carolinas.

Pemco. I've been with them since 2003. As soon as they found out I boarded dogs they sent me cancellation letter saying I was ineligible for home owner coverage saying due to people coming to my home the risk as increases. It makes no difference that I have home based business insurance.
