What do you use to protect car upholstery? [closed]

Has anyone recently found a good car bench seat protector? I was looking at using Amazon.com $ (Thanks Rover!).

After reading the reviews, a lot of them are undesirable: treated with heavy chemicals, backing that peels/melts on upholstery, slippery, and/or can't be washed. After reading the recent thread about couches, I'm thinking that pee pads placed on the seat under a fitted flannel sheet may be best. Any other solutions work for you (especially if transporting multiple dogs)?

I've had a Kurgo seat protector and it was better than nothing, but the dogs kept pushing it to the side to lay down on the seat itself, and they'd especially push it to the side if they were going to throw up, so I didn't find it totally useful. Honestly I didn't notice it keeping the bulk of dirt or hair off the car seats and I wasn't a fan of the look.

My current solution is a wool army blanket from a surplus store which covers the entire back area of my car (a Fiat with the back seat permanently folded down). It's tucked in tightly on all sides, and after months of use and dozens of dogs back there, some of them insistent diggers, it has remained solidly in place. I could not be happier with its performance. It's durable and nice looking, and of course would be very useful if I found myself lost in the wilderness or something.
