Do dogs have to be fully vaccinated in order to receive care via Rover?

I recently got a puppy, who will not be fully vaccinated at the time I will need to book some drop-in visits. Does Rover require vaccination status for each dog? I am also worried about the sitter coming in contact with unvaccinated/infected dogs, and potentially carrying a virus into our home. Any advice is welcomed, as I am new to Rover. Thank you!!

It’s helpful to think of Rover as a marketplace that introduces pet owners to pet sitters. Generalizations aren’t entirely valid. Each sitter might have a completely different way of operating their business, which might even change from client to client based on need.

The best way to handle this is to completely fill out your puppy’s profile, including providing vaccination status info. Next, you might want to search sitters who offer housesitting as well as drop in services. Each housesitting rate is usually for up to 24 hours of time and many sitters who offer housesitting will come and go to either take care of their own pets or other pets. The rate for housesitting likely is approximately equal to what you would pay for multiple drop in visits. Next, contact sitters to setup meet & greet.

During the meet & greet, clearly ask questions to get to know them and what exactly their services offer, make sure they get along with your puppy & you. *Since most sitters do have their own pets, you may want to ask about their own pets vaccination status and you likely want to instruct that No other pets will enter your home or walk with your puppy at any time, including no introductions to others during walks.

Most importantly, set clear expectations about your dog’s care and any home related expectations while you’re away.
