Is raw hamburger meat unhealthy for my dogs?
I have been feeding my small breed dogs, (chi mix) raw hamburger meat. Is this bad for them?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6952838/ (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl…) Here is the only comprehensive evaluation performed and published by the National Institutes of Health, the researches the occurrence and prevalence of any diseases and or parasitic infections reported, by laboratory findings, that were limited to raw food to pet diet causation. Hope this adds insight into the "truths and tall-tails" of this subject! 😁
Raw hamburger meat can be harmful to dogs and should be avoided. Raw meat, including raw hamburger, can contain bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli, which can cause food poisoning in dogs and potentially be life-threatening. In addition, raw hamburger may contain harmful parasites, such as worms, that can infect dogs and cause serious health problems.
While some dog owners choose to feed their pets a raw food diet, it is important to understand the risks associated with this type of feeding and to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of food poisoning and other health problems. If you're interested in feeding your dog a raw food diet, it is best to consult with a veterinarian who is knowledgeable in this area to ensure that your pet receives a balanced and safe diet.
