How do taxes work when there is multiple caretakers?

Hi everyone!

I browsed through the Q&A community and haven't found much info on how people handle taxes if they're sharing a Rover sitter account. I live with my boyfriend and we plan to both participate in pet sitting, but not sure how that'll work when it comes to taxes.

Can anyone provide some insight? Thanks in advance!

Since you can't file a joint return, it is far more complicated and would likely involve the establishment of a business partnership through which the earnings pass onto your personal returns via K-1s. However, you really should be getting advice from a tax professional.

Sharing a Rover sitter account without your boyfriend legally on the account would be in violation of the Rover Terms of Service
