Why do the sitters' rates go up after I like them?

When I find a sitter in interested in I "like" them, then suddenly the rate changes (increases) and there is an "additional cat care" fee for overnights and/or drop in visits. Why does this happen? It feels like a bait & switch.

Yep, the first answer is correct. The original search is the base rate, so if there are any add-ons to their base rate for other things, then that reflects only after you go to book. Additional care is done by Rover because you're asking for over 24 hrs. 6 AM Fri to 6 PM Sat isn't one day now

You should always check additional rates under the sitters profile as all you see are the base rate. This isn't bait and switch
