What is the extra fee clients are paying on top of the booking?

For example: If I charge $48/overnight - does Rover still take the 20% out of my fee?

If I book a service with another sitter, it seems that I am paying a significant fee on top of my booking. What is this fee? When was it implemented?

So, all in all - If the client books with me at $48/night, you take 20% out of my fee and then still the client is paying an additional fee on top of the 20% taken out of my fee?
OR Is the client paying the 20% and I keep the full $48/night?

Let’s start with Sitter Fees. Depending when a sitter starts with Rover, yes they keep approx. 20% (for sitters who started years ago it’s 15%) So, if you list $48, rover will keep $9.60 from each night booked, and you’d receive $38.40. When you enter rates in the table, it specifies underneath the amount you’ll be paid, for consideration. Consider this as the cost of connecting with people that you have not met otherwise. Keeping 100% of $0 = $Zero (for an owner who you did not meet - so would not book with you)

Yes, there are also Owner Fees. This applies to owners who created accounts after Sept. 2015. — I believe that owner fees are an additional 15% of booked total. On a $48 booking, that’s 7.20 - Owner would be shown/pay total $55.20. Mostly, rover states these help with operating costs of website & app.

Why do I have to pay additional services fee if I select a sitter from your site so am paying a fee and the sitter is paying a fee why too much

That is why I did not sign up with Rover but I did and have been using http://Petsitter.com

I didn't realize until recently that owners were paying an additional fee on top of the 20% kept from my fee! I can tell you they are not happy about it..
