Different prices at different times?

I could swear that when I looked at the rates this afternoon they were lower then when I was ready to book later that night. I had picked out two sitters- both wanted to charge $30, yet when I came back to the site a few hours later, one was $50 and one was $60. I had looked at the sitters together with the husband, and we both had seen the $30 rate. I had to instantly think of surge pricing... Did anyone have a similar experience like this?

There is no surge pricing on Rover nor does Rover have anything to do with the fees charged by sitters. So merely viewing a profile doesn't trigger anything.

I have seen the same thing and wondered why as well.

Most likely, the sitters whose profiles you viewed decided to increase their rates. This can be quickly changed at anytime. It’s possible that the sitters knew each other personally/professionally and discussed their planned rate changes, but it could also be explained by sitters’ awareness of the local market and considering their needs/value.
